Hi future nurses! I've been searching for a recent forum of the BSN program for Winter 2014 but couldn't find any so I decided to make one myself. I applied to the Winter 2014 BSN program at NOVA. All my prereqs are done, my GPA is 3.7 and my science GPA is 3.5. I was hoping to receive feedback from anyone who has applied in the past or is currently applying like myself to the Winter 2014 program! Have any of you gotten an interview call yet?:nailbiting:
@nursingdreamer2010 Hey I was accepted into the ft. myers program but I have been double thinking about changing campuses for better scholarship opportunities. AHHH I don't know what to do because I don't want them to think I am not serious about attending the nursing program. Do let me know what ms. alvarez tells you! Thanks!
Today I took my HESI for Chamberlain - Miramar just as a backup for Nova and Broward. I really really don't want to go anywhere but Nova..it's sickening. I passed the HESI at least but yet I did horrible on the Kaplan. HESI was WAY easier for some reason. I was talking to another girl and she said her friend didn't make it into Nova because of her Kaplan score. We don't even get a second try and the first try was on interview day...its really not fair and my luck I had to be the semester that requires a test. I don't know how or what to think anymore I am still waiting for a response but I am trying to stay positive, not sure I know how because of this stupid test!
@yankeesgirl907, I definitely agree with what you said about the HESI being so much more easier than the Kaplan. I, too, took the HESI and was accepted to Broward College as my backup. When was your interview with Nova? Have you emailed anyone from admissions as to the status of your application? That's what I did (about 1.5 weeks after my interview) and was told I was accepted and should be receiving the official email when BC sent my final transcripts. A few days later, I received my acceptance email and was notified through my v.i.p. page. Stay positive, nonetheless. :-)
@yankeesgirl907 The thing to do right now is not to think about the test (Kaplan) at ALL because you cannot undo anything! Keep emailing the admissions office or adviser to see if there are any changes to your status. Relax Relax Relax because you've already tried your very best! When it comes it will come ! I wish you nothing but the best!!! I was just like you after the test , I worried too much . I tried looking everywhere online for the national norm for the Kaplan test and even got myself scared when I asked the admission office for what score they're looking for which they answered a 75% ( My score was lower than that). Also, Maybe the other girl's friend didn't do so well on her interview ( you don't know what was the main factor that caused her to be rejected). Plus, you don't know what the interviewers are thinking when they decide on each applicant.
I had my interview on Wed Oct 23rd, so it has not even been a week yet obviously. I emailed Andrea only asking her if there was a way to see the results again online somewhere and what subjects were counted into the final overall. My percent correct was 64 I know BC still has to send my final transcripts in Dec when I finish my classes but I feel I worked so hard to let this go to the craps because of a random test that was just implemented within a months time. As much as I keep checking the VIP page knowing that nothing will be there yet, I'm scared to know lol

Thank you for the positive reply :) I do appreciate it and hopefully I will get to be in class with you ! I know already I worry too much, I get told that everyday....I just always feel that if I am positive about something and then it doesn't happen, I made myself happy for nothing. ( I know this isn't the correct way to think.) I just wish I would of finished my pre-reqs sooner so I could of bypassed that stupid test lol. Oh well, you are right though !

@yankeesgirl907, I don't think critical thinking is added to your overall score that's shown on top of the page. Sorry, if I may have confused you. I just threw out all my info. Lol. Im not too sure if you're able to see the scores now. I only saw them when i finished the rest. I would email some one from admissions (I recommend Mallory, only because she's the one I spoke to regarding any questions). I would wait about a week or so from your interview date to email her. By then, she may have more info regarding your status.
