OB/gyn nursing is what I want to do!
I am hoping to do my practicum in OB but you never know what you'll get for practicum. It's so hard to get what you actually want, especially if a lot of people are choosing OB. I have a friend that is a OB/gyn doctor so I'm hoping maybe that could possibly be my ticket in!

OB/gyn nursing is what I want to do!
So, I'm finally in my OB/Peds clinical rotation in my nursing school program, and I'm super positive I want to do OB/gyn! I hate medsurg, it's definitely something I don't want to do - people keep saying that we need the clinical experience for 2 years but I keep hearing that there are so many training programs many hospitals offer now where you don't need clinical experience somewhere else. They will just train you for a couple months and you'll be set. I REALLY want to be a baby nurse, it would be so amazing to do. Are the chances really hard to get a job as a ob nurse right after nursing school??? Also, are the chances higher to get a job outside of the hospital as a OB nurse? either or would be amazing for me! but I'm just wondering what are ways that could increase my chance of getting my dream job as a OB nurse without struggling with medsurg ;-: thanks!

Nursing student in need of some advice!!
The "WOW. I really feel like I dont wanna do this" is how I feel. But then again I have thought about all the other directions I can go, which is what keeps running through my mind. I really dont want to do bedside nursing. It's a sucky feeling! It makes me question everything.

Nursing student in need of some advice!!
Wonderful advice from all of you, thank you so much. That is what I have set in my mind, finishing this sesmter and then deciding whether or not to keep going. I'm passing my classes with flying colors and at clinicals I try to be as involved as possible, but I do feel that anxiety and I question myself every time I'm at clinicals if I really want to be a nurse. I think it's normal in the beginning but I feel strongly about it! I don't like the work. But it's a super hard decision to make - I think it looks so bad to drop out of nursing school. So much money and time invested into it! I was also thinking of non bedside options I can pursue if I keep going but I wasn't sure of what options those are....dont jobs always want someone with bedside experience anyway?

Nursing student in need of some advice!!
Okay, I'm currently in my 1st semester of nursing school. Just started clinicals. And out of nowhere I got the feeling that nursing isn't for me. I'm giving a feel because my friends keep telling me I will pull through and find something I love in Nursing other than the traditional bedside nursing. But I find myself feeling anxious and nervous all the time! Dreading going to clinicals and constantly worrying about what will I do when I graduate? Am I over thinking this? Ive had so much time and money invested in Nursing that it's hard to just drop it all. Does anyone have any insight and advice? Please and thank you

@yankeesgirl Lol I was more nervous for the interview too. So nervous that while I was taking the kaplan I couldn't concentrate because I kept thinking about the damn interview! Don't worry about the vocab.....the science is whats random as heck! Everything I studied wasn't on it. It's just so random. Is there anyone going to kendall campus here!?!? I kinda wish I applied to the main campus!

@kelcey well if you got accepted, it should notify you saying congratulations etc, and the next steps in the process. you should call them and check! in my group interview, 4 of us have gotten in so far. The last one of us is still waiting to be called! I got an email, a call, and it notified me on the vip page as well. I applied to the Kendall campus.

@hopeful_future_nurse Good luck on your interview! Don't stress it out too much! I totally did and I still got accepted. In the interview, like others have said, they ask you open ended questions but in my group it was weird, coz they just wanted us to state one word that would describe you best. However they didn't tell us to explain WHY. I forgot the 2nd question, and the other questions were group scenario questions that you work on together as a group. I thought they would tell us to explain in the individual questions but guess not! Again that was just for my group I don't know if it was the same for all. Good luck to you! Any others that have gotten accepted to the Kendall campus?
