Nova Southeastern University Entry-Level BSN Winter (January 2016) !

Published

Hello everyone !!

I was looking for a post for the Entry-Level BSN program for Winter 2016 at Nova and I couldn't find one, so I decided to make one where we could all get in contact to discuss and share our experience, tips, thoughts and questions on this journey !

So, I guess I'll begin with mine!! I originally began my application to Nova April 30th (kind of late considering their deadline for registration was June 1st) for the Fall Semester. After I submitted both my nursingCAS and the NSU application, it took about 2 weeks to receive a response. I got my email for the interview May 19th. I immediately registered for an interview (June 4th, tomorrow!!!) and began to prepare.

I called Nova, to see if I could get some feedback as to what I could use to study from, or if there was any specific book I could purchase. The girl who I spoke to kindly informed me that there was no specific study guide and that the test would be based on previous knowledge from my prerequisites. With that being said, I immediately started googling and finding out as much information as possible about the Exam and the interview process (where I came to find this website that has genuinely helped me so much with gathering info). I then purchased the "Nursing School Entrance Exams" Kaplan book through Amazon, which cost me around $20, and began to study from that. I can' t tell you guys yet if that worked for me or not since we don't know the exact material of the exam and I hadn't taken the exam yet, but I'll make sure to come back and let you guys know how it went!

I received a call last week on Friday, that there were no more available seats for the Fall Term 2015. The girl I spoke to advised me to still present myself to the interview and take the exam. She also told me that the application could be moved to the Winter Term and that way I don't have to apply all over again and go through the same process. So, that's what I plan on doing.

I am so nervous for the exam more than anything, since I don't know what to expect, but I am trying to stay positive.

Good luck to all the new applicants for Winter Term and those that are on the same boat as me. Hopefully we are all together soon in the BSN program at NSU!!!!!!!

Your welcome and good luck!!

If you have any questions just ask and I'll try my best to answer them as best as I can!

The NursingCast application also ask on the semester section about academic status example Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior.. I am lost this is Chinese for me help! please!

To be considered a Freshman, you need 0-29 credit hours. To be considered a Sophomore, you need 30-59 credit hours. To be considered a Junior, you need 60-89 credit hours. To be considered a Senior, you need 90 or more credit hours.

NursingCas is a pain in the butt! This happened to me with my transcripts. Once your nursincas says it "Recieved" your transcipts, you have to cal nova IMMEDIATELY and ask them if they recieved them as well. If they havnt then you must call nursingcas and explain them your situation. If they did what they did to me, then they will chamge ypur transcript info to verrified. Call nova one more time and ask them if they recieved your transcipts, if they havnt give them your nursingcas id and they will call in behalf of you, and fix the problem themselves. Hoped this helped!

Yea i hope i get to meet you one day to give you my gratitude in person for your help on this matter!

thanks ,Yeah I agree with you they are a pain.., we are paying them $$ and they want us to add every class, what a hell they do then.

Thank Yudi , you too!

Veamarige, even though its a pain, and trust me I know it sucks to have to pay $95 total just to apply, I am sure its worth it. I suggest to complete the application as soon as you can so they can have all the information needed to send you an interview and you can put all this hassle behind you! Also, I think the earlier you turn in your applications and the faster you interview the better it is, in my opinion.

I just finished entering all the classes ( the prerequisite class and the ones that are no but still on my transcript) . I still don't see Nursing cas received the transcripts.

Do you think I can send the Nursing Cas application anyway???

also let me ask you did you include the HSC0003 Introduction to health care? because I see it on the transcript below after END OF COLLEGE Credit Record

thanks for your help!!!

That I wouldn't know how to answer, I didn't have any class like that on my transcripts, why don't you call NursingCas and ask them about that and if they have already received your transcripts. I suggest to send the application as soon as you finish it either way. That's what I did.

I called yesterday and they didn't receive it . i am going to call tomorrow again. when you send yours did they had your transcript?

thanks

Not yet no. Nova received my transcripts like a week after i sent my application.

Yes you can, in fact do it, it will save a lot of time, because the application also has to be processed. At broward college its called HCP0003 but i think its the same. NSU does not require that class.
