Nova Southeastern University Entry-Level BSN Winter (January 2016) !

Published

Hello everyone !!

I was looking for a post for the Entry-Level BSN program for Winter 2016 at Nova and I couldn't find one, so I decided to make one where we could all get in contact to discuss and share our experience, tips, thoughts and questions on this journey !

So, I guess I'll begin with mine!! I originally began my application to Nova April 30th (kind of late considering their deadline for registration was June 1st) for the Fall Semester. After I submitted both my nursingCAS and the NSU application, it took about 2 weeks to receive a response. I got my email for the interview May 19th. I immediately registered for an interview (June 4th, tomorrow!!!) and began to prepare.

I called Nova, to see if I could get some feedback as to what I could use to study from, or if there was any specific book I could purchase. The girl who I spoke to kindly informed me that there was no specific study guide and that the test would be based on previous knowledge from my prerequisites. With that being said, I immediately started googling and finding out as much information as possible about the Exam and the interview process (where I came to find this website that has genuinely helped me so much with gathering info). I then purchased the "Nursing School Entrance Exams" Kaplan book through Amazon, which cost me around $20, and began to study from that. I can' t tell you guys yet if that worked for me or not since we don't know the exact material of the exam and I hadn't taken the exam yet, but I'll make sure to come back and let you guys know how it went!

I received a call last week on Friday, that there were no more available seats for the Fall Term 2015. The girl I spoke to advised me to still present myself to the interview and take the exam. She also told me that the application could be moved to the Winter Term and that way I don't have to apply all over again and go through the same process. So, that's what I plan on doing.

I am so nervous for the exam more than anything, since I don't know what to expect, but I am trying to stay positive.

Good luck to all the new applicants for Winter Term and those that are on the same boat as me. Hopefully we are all together soon in the BSN program at NSU!!!!!!!

Hi guys.

I have been reading this tread and all the info is so helpful. I just start it with the process hopefully I'm still on time to get in the program. I apply to Mdc and didn't get accepted so I thought to give Nova a shot even though is expensive it has a great program and when one door closes you just have to look for another one to open.

Thank you Yudi for creating the tread and congrats on getting accepted. I will make sure to post any questions .

What campus are you applying too? And good luck :)

Thank you Steven and congrats to you for getting in. I am applying to the Kendall-Miami Campus is closer to me but I read you still have to go to the main campus to receive some classes there. Sorry i don't know how to reply to you directly. Lol

Lol it's cool. And yeah I still have to take Chemistry and the 5 credit human anatomy and physiology at NSU. I was suppose to take chem over the summer but due to low enrollment the course was dropped :/

Oh so you have to take all those courses in the fall?

Hi Isis!

Yes, I definitely agree. You never know what may happen! Did you already finish the application process?? You have plenty of time to apply for the Winter term but I think the faster you get everything done the better!

You are very welcome.. if you need anything let us know!

I also applied for the Kendall campus so hopefully we get to be classmates! :)

No, I send my transcripts so I'm waiting for them to receive them. I also have to finish the reference do you know if you have to put a certain amount or one is good enough?

Yay hopefully we do😊. I saw yesterday on their website they are having an Info meeting today I wanted to go but I don't think I can make it.

Yeah it was the only section. Mainly physiology. The systems were cardiovascular, immune, homeostasis, electrolytes, urinary, nervous, blood, respiratory, GI, and sensory. As long as you know the basics if each section you should be fine.

Thanks a lot for the heads up Steven. I actually study with Khan Academy for all my exams as well, its very helpful. i will try cliff notes as well!

Andry it sounds like a lot but it's really just like 25 questions I believe. One question I remember for sure is the blood movement through the heart, just the order.

That is not as bad as what i thought. I shouldn't have problems with The cardiac-pulmonary system nor the urinary system. I just need to brush up on the rest. Thanks Yudi for letting me know that as well.

I had 3 references. I am sure that's enough. Did you do your NursingCas application as well?
