Nova Southeastern University Entry-Level BSN Winter (January 2016) !

Published

Hello everyone !!

I was looking for a post for the Entry-Level BSN program for Winter 2016 at Nova and I couldn't find one, so I decided to make one where we could all get in contact to discuss and share our experience, tips, thoughts and questions on this journey !

So, I guess I'll begin with mine!! I originally began my application to Nova April 30th (kind of late considering their deadline for registration was June 1st) for the Fall Semester. After I submitted both my nursingCAS and the NSU application, it took about 2 weeks to receive a response. I got my email for the interview May 19th. I immediately registered for an interview (June 4th, tomorrow!!!) and began to prepare.

I called Nova, to see if I could get some feedback as to what I could use to study from, or if there was any specific book I could purchase. The girl who I spoke to kindly informed me that there was no specific study guide and that the test would be based on previous knowledge from my prerequisites. With that being said, I immediately started googling and finding out as much information as possible about the Exam and the interview process (where I came to find this website that has genuinely helped me so much with gathering info). I then purchased the "Nursing School Entrance Exams" Kaplan book through Amazon, which cost me around $20, and began to study from that. I can' t tell you guys yet if that worked for me or not since we don't know the exact material of the exam and I hadn't taken the exam yet, but I'll make sure to come back and let you guys know how it went!

I received a call last week on Friday, that there were no more available seats for the Fall Term 2015. The girl I spoke to advised me to still present myself to the interview and take the exam. She also told me that the application could be moved to the Winter Term and that way I don't have to apply all over again and go through the same process. So, that's what I plan on doing.

I am so nervous for the exam more than anything, since I don't know what to expect, but I am trying to stay positive.

Good luck to all the new applicants for Winter Term and those that are on the same boat as me. Hopefully we are all together soon in the BSN program at NSU!!!!!!!

I don't think so? Usually if the course is a higher level than the one they require it should be ok, at least that's what I've been told before

Hi everyone! I know you guys might not post in this thread anymore but I know since some of you all are already in the program you might be able to answer a question for me. I have been accepted into the Fall 2016 cohort at main campus, and I am so excited. I completed my background check and everything, so now my only question is about our scrubs. They told us that we will be ordering our scrubs on orientation day but I believe our orientation is on August 18th, and class starts a few days after that? Does anyone know how long it will take for us to wear our scrubs? And also, where did you all get your scrubs from? Thank you!

Hi qwright12! I personally got my scrubs from a store a couple of weeks before the semester started. I suggest that you buy a pair of scrubs in a store and order the other scrubs online if you would like. I know a couple of my friends that ordered their scrubs online and they had to go buy ones in a stores because by the time school started they still had not received their scrubs. I also suggest to order your lab oat as soon as you can. I got mine 2-3weeks after school started and I ordered it 2 weeks before the first day of school. You get your lab coat from a website the school provides. Some stores I went to are Uniform Advantage and All Uniform Wear! Hope I answered your question! And congrats on getting accepted!

Hi guys! Did anyone have a professor named Silvia Hindes?

hi cici did u get in?

Would anyone be able to tell me if Nova looks at certain classes and those grades to be considered applicable? Meaning for example do they look at A&P1 and 2 and math and go off those grades and calculate your pre req GPA from that? Then pick and choose who they decide to get chosen for an interview? Im basically just wondering how well I need to do in my pre reqs for Novas RNtoBSN program when I am done with the RN program at Broward.

hi there! can anyone tell me how much $$ in nova to do the BSN

The BSN at Nova is approximately $27k/per year, the BSN at FIU is $16k/yr and UM doesn't list the cost of their program. Nova is 6 semesters FIU is 5 as well as UM I believe.

Thank you! For the info
