Nova Southeastern University Entry-Level BSN Winter (January 2016) !

Published

Hello everyone !!

I was looking for a post for the Entry-Level BSN program for Winter 2016 at Nova and I couldn't find one, so I decided to make one where we could all get in contact to discuss and share our experience, tips, thoughts and questions on this journey !

So, I guess I'll begin with mine!! I originally began my application to Nova April 30th (kind of late considering their deadline for registration was June 1st) for the Fall Semester. After I submitted both my nursingCAS and the NSU application, it took about 2 weeks to receive a response. I got my email for the interview May 19th. I immediately registered for an interview (June 4th, tomorrow!!!) and began to prepare.

I called Nova, to see if I could get some feedback as to what I could use to study from, or if there was any specific book I could purchase. The girl who I spoke to kindly informed me that there was no specific study guide and that the test would be based on previous knowledge from my prerequisites. With that being said, I immediately started googling and finding out as much information as possible about the Exam and the interview process (where I came to find this website that has genuinely helped me so much with gathering info). I then purchased the "Nursing School Entrance Exams" Kaplan book through Amazon, which cost me around $20, and began to study from that. I can' t tell you guys yet if that worked for me or not since we don't know the exact material of the exam and I hadn't taken the exam yet, but I'll make sure to come back and let you guys know how it went!

I received a call last week on Friday, that there were no more available seats for the Fall Term 2015. The girl I spoke to advised me to still present myself to the interview and take the exam. She also told me that the application could be moved to the Winter Term and that way I don't have to apply all over again and go through the same process. So, that's what I plan on doing.

I am so nervous for the exam more than anything, since I don't know what to expect, but I am trying to stay positive.

Good luck to all the new applicants for Winter Term and those that are on the same boat as me. Hopefully we are all together soon in the BSN program at NSU!!!!!!!

Hey Steven how did you do on the kaplan test, I'm so worried about it. I'm trying to apply for the fall 2016 term

Hi dionna6995 congrats on your acceptance for spring 2016. For the Kaplan exam is there any particular edition that we need to purchase? I'm not too sure how to use this site so if you don't mind can you send me an email at [email protected]

I am applying for fall 2016 and I'm just extremely nervous, I've started the process and now all I'm doing is waiting for nova and nursing Cas to recieve my transcripts.

Hi all, not sure if anyone checks this thread anymore. I am applying to NSU entry BSN for Fall 2016. The person I spoke to in advisement told me to send my application to NSU but don't bother with using NursingCas (I'm not sure why if they won't be using it anymore or not). I spoke to someone at Main campus initially for advisement and then a different person at Miami Campus both said don't bother using NursingCas. Was anyone else told this? Is there anyone else around applying for Fall 2016? I recently bought the 6th edition Kaplan book and began studying. Good luck out there if there are any more applicants around!!

Hi there,

So do we need to submit a Nursingcas or no? Also if i'm taking anatomy in the summer will i still receive an interview? aha so many questions!!

Ha ha! Im beyond confused aswell. Hopefully someone replies with some clarifications.

So I called back Miami campus and was advised that NursingCas is undergoing changes and from here on out NSU may not be using it anymore. All applications should go directly to NSU. @JenniferOrti from what I understand as long as you are finished your anatomy before fall you should be ok (as long as you have a passing grade of C or higher).

Ok perfect I should be fine. I also heard they're not conducting group interviews anymore. I guess a better opportunity to sell your self, I guess.

Oh I didn't hear that. That's good I guess. I wasn't sure the format of those interviews. I wonder if not doing group interviews has slowed down the process since now everyone is interviewed one on one.

Oh I hope that's not the case. That just makes everything a little more nerve racking.

Hi everybody, congratulations to everyone who were accepted and finished their first semester! I was just accepted into the nova BSN program and start now fall 2016. I wanted feedback as to what the first semester is like and if anybody applied for the baptist scholarship and went through the interview, what questions I can expect. Also what books do you need for the first semester? I feel like I should buy them ahead of time and start reading and studying. Any information would really help! Thank you!

Oh and if anybody is going to do their clinicals at baptist in the main campus on 88th north Kendall drive I would love to meet up with you if any of you are willing, (since I work there and am there all the time) to hear about your experience about your first semester. :)
