Nova Southeastern University Entry-Level BSN Winter (January 2016) !

Published

Hello everyone !!

I was looking for a post for the Entry-Level BSN program for Winter 2016 at Nova and I couldn't find one, so I decided to make one where we could all get in contact to discuss and share our experience, tips, thoughts and questions on this journey !

So, I guess I'll begin with mine!! I originally began my application to Nova April 30th (kind of late considering their deadline for registration was June 1st) for the Fall Semester. After I submitted both my nursingCAS and the NSU application, it took about 2 weeks to receive a response. I got my email for the interview May 19th. I immediately registered for an interview (June 4th, tomorrow!!!) and began to prepare.

I called Nova, to see if I could get some feedback as to what I could use to study from, or if there was any specific book I could purchase. The girl who I spoke to kindly informed me that there was no specific study guide and that the test would be based on previous knowledge from my prerequisites. With that being said, I immediately started googling and finding out as much information as possible about the Exam and the interview process (where I came to find this website that has genuinely helped me so much with gathering info). I then purchased the "Nursing School Entrance Exams" Kaplan book through Amazon, which cost me around $20, and began to study from that. I can' t tell you guys yet if that worked for me or not since we don't know the exact material of the exam and I hadn't taken the exam yet, but I'll make sure to come back and let you guys know how it went!

I received a call last week on Friday, that there were no more available seats for the Fall Term 2015. The girl I spoke to advised me to still present myself to the interview and take the exam. She also told me that the application could be moved to the Winter Term and that way I don't have to apply all over again and go through the same process. So, that's what I plan on doing.

I am so nervous for the exam more than anything, since I don't know what to expect, but I am trying to stay positive.

Good luck to all the new applicants for Winter Term and those that are on the same boat as me. Hopefully we are all together soon in the BSN program at NSU!!!!!!!

Just spoke with Sharifa and I been accepted into the program for the main campus location!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Told you, told you, told you!!! CONGRATS a million times!!

LOL!!! I know I literally had to ask her twice if she was being serious lmao I am so happy right now OMG!!!

Yes you can, in fact do it, it will save a lot of time, because the application also has to be processed. At broward college its called HCP0003 but i think its the same. NSU does not require that class.

Andry have you selected an Interview date yet ??

Should definitely try to do the interview and exam asap since they started accepting people and the program coordinator let me know that the Winter Cohort is usually the shortest class.

I have not because i want to finish my A&P class (it ends on August 5th). For now there aren't any interview dates that are available, but as soon as the next interview date appears, im going to take it ASAP.

I'm very happy for you dude, congats!!!!! as soon as the next interview day appears online i will definitely take it!

Yes do so! The faster you get it over with the better!! If you need help with anything just let me know! :)

Thanks! And tbh it wasn't as bad as you think it is...the waiting is what makes it worse lol and for the kaplan science section definitely go over khan academy and Cliffnotes. I still haven't taken A&P and I didn't do so bad on that section.

Sorry if i hadn't been able to reply as quick as i would like but i have been very busy with finals coming up. What systems did the a&p portions go over? And was a&p the only science subject?

Yeah it was the only section. Mainly physiology. The systems were cardiovascular, immune, homeostasis, electrolytes, urinary, nervous, blood, respiratory, GI, and sensory. As long as you know the basics if each section you should be fine.

Andry it sounds like a lot but it's really just like 25 questions I believe. One question I remember for sure is the blood movement through the heart, just the order.
