Nova Southeastern University Entry-Level BSN Winter (January 2016) !

Published

Hello everyone !!

I was looking for a post for the Entry-Level BSN program for Winter 2016 at Nova and I couldn't find one, so I decided to make one where we could all get in contact to discuss and share our experience, tips, thoughts and questions on this journey !

So, I guess I'll begin with mine!! I originally began my application to Nova April 30th (kind of late considering their deadline for registration was June 1st) for the Fall Semester. After I submitted both my nursingCAS and the NSU application, it took about 2 weeks to receive a response. I got my email for the interview May 19th. I immediately registered for an interview (June 4th, tomorrow!!!) and began to prepare.

I called Nova, to see if I could get some feedback as to what I could use to study from, or if there was any specific book I could purchase. The girl who I spoke to kindly informed me that there was no specific study guide and that the test would be based on previous knowledge from my prerequisites. With that being said, I immediately started googling and finding out as much information as possible about the Exam and the interview process (where I came to find this website that has genuinely helped me so much with gathering info). I then purchased the "Nursing School Entrance Exams" Kaplan book through Amazon, which cost me around $20, and began to study from that. I can' t tell you guys yet if that worked for me or not since we don't know the exact material of the exam and I hadn't taken the exam yet, but I'll make sure to come back and let you guys know how it went!

I received a call last week on Friday, that there were no more available seats for the Fall Term 2015. The girl I spoke to advised me to still present myself to the interview and take the exam. She also told me that the application could be moved to the Winter Term and that way I don't have to apply all over again and go through the same process. So, that's what I plan on doing.

I am so nervous for the exam more than anything, since I don't know what to expect, but I am trying to stay positive.

Good luck to all the new applicants for Winter Term and those that are on the same boat as me. Hopefully we are all together soon in the BSN program at NSU!!!!!!!

That's awesome! I wish we could of applied to the same campus, and become study buddies lol :)

Andry what campus did you apply to!?

Congrats buddy! What day did you choose for the interview?

I applied to the Davie/Fort Lauderdale campus, i think you mentioned your going to the Miami/Kendall campus.

Yes, I'll be in the Miami campus. Maybe we will have some classes together like A&P at the main campus :D !

Specializes in Peds, Med-Surg, Disaster Nsg, Parish Nsg.

Your thread has been moved to the Nursing Schools and Colleges forum where the other school specific discussions are. We hope you will receive additional responses in this new location.

Hi Congrats!! to all that was accepted on the Nova program

Any one that can help me and reply me soon I appreciate it.

This is my case I applied late (thought the Nova page only) on May 29/2015, the transcript was sent from Miami Dade College on May 29, 2015, Nova received it on Jun 6, 2015.

After I had applied and waited I called Nova but they didn;t have any news either. Later maybe 2 weeks after I received a calll from Nova with the bad news that the program was full for the Fall semester.

They told to reapply but thought NursingCas for the Spring semester and send a transcript with the completion of writing class that I just finished on the summer.

On Jul 6, MDC sent NuringCas the transcript, today I call Nursingcast for the 2nd time and they didn't received it yet. I am still filling the application in Nursingcas and waiting for the transcript but the nursingcast application is king of confusing me do we have to put only the class required for Nova or all the classes we have?

Also do any one know how much exactly nova cost because this is the first thing that make me stop in applying at Nova

Thanks

Hi veamarige!

If I understand your question correctly, you do have to apply by both the Nova website and the NursingCas website. I applied to both at the same time when I did my application. MDC transcripts take a while, approximately 2 weeks (at least for me it did) so don't worry much about that. The Nova application cost me $50 and the NursngCas $45. And I put all the classes I took, whether they were required for Nova or not, because it makes up your commutative GPA.

Not sure if I answered your questions...?

Thanks for reply me soon!

The first time I applied only at Nova web page because when I went to the kendall office and also by phone they didn't told about the Nursingcas.

This time after the reply of my first application I am appling at Nursingcas but they told to only paid the $45 and that they going to use the $50 that I already paid.

I am going to put all the course as you told, thanks. I am filling with an unofficial transcript of MDC. Is going to be ok?

I am confuse for example ENC1101 1102 are a on the Subject of Writing or Communication because that's the only option they give of NursinCas, I don't see the option Written Communication,

also,

BSC2085, BSC2085 lab, BSC2086 ..... are on the Physical Sicences or Anatomy don't see the option Natural /Physcical Sciences

The other questions was: if you know how much the BSC program at Nova cost?

any answer is going to help me. Thanks

Your very welcome!

Yes I don't think you'll need to reapply at the Nova website since the application was already completed and sent, just finish the NursingCas one and send it as soon as possible so you get it done and over with. I sent my official transcripts, you can do so by the student portal in the MDC website. I would put ENC classes under writing I think its the best option between that and communication and BSC I think its best to choose anatomy ?

About the cost for the BSN program you can check that on the Nova website.. Here is a link I think might help. Entry Bachelors of Science in Nursing Program | BSN Degree | Nova Southeastern University

Hope I answered all your questions!

If your almost done with your pre-requisites then you would be considered a junior or senior I believe that's what I selected when I filled my NursingCas application
