Nova Southeastern University Entry-Level BSN Winter (January 2016) !

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello everyone !!

I was looking for a post for the Entry-Level BSN program for Winter 2016 at Nova and I couldn't find one, so I decided to make one where we could all get in contact to discuss and share our experience, tips, thoughts and questions on this journey !

So, I guess I'll begin with mine!! I originally began my application to Nova April 30th (kind of late considering their deadline for registration was June 1st) for the Fall Semester. After I submitted both my nursingCAS and the NSU application, it took about 2 weeks to receive a response. I got my email for the interview May 19th. I immediately registered for an interview (June 4th, tomorrow!!!) and began to prepare.

I called Nova, to see if I could get some feedback as to what I could use to study from, or if there was any specific book I could purchase. The girl who I spoke to kindly informed me that there was no specific study guide and that the test would be based on previous knowledge from my prerequisites. With that being said, I immediately started googling and finding out as much information as possible about the Exam and the interview process (where I came to find this website that has genuinely helped me so much with gathering info). I then purchased the "Nursing School Entrance Exams" Kaplan book through Amazon, which cost me around $20, and began to study from that. I can' t tell you guys yet if that worked for me or not since we don't know the exact material of the exam and I hadn't taken the exam yet, but I'll make sure to come back and let you guys know how it went!

I received a call last week on Friday, that there were no more available seats for the Fall Term 2015. The girl I spoke to advised me to still present myself to the interview and take the exam. She also told me that the application could be moved to the Winter Term and that way I don't have to apply all over again and go through the same process. So, that's what I plan on doing.

I am so nervous for the exam more than anything, since I don't know what to expect, but I am trying to stay positive.

Good luck to all the new applicants for Winter Term and those that are on the same boat as me. Hopefully we are all together soon in the BSN program at NSU!!!!!!!

Andry congrats !!!!!!!!!! That is awesome!!!!!!! So happy for you!! Yes, I am going to call them again this afternoon and see if there has been any decisions made! yayyyyyy!!! awesome!

Thank Yudi, i really appreciate your empathy! Did you get any updates on your situation by calling the admissions office?

You're welcome! Well, I called the nursing programs office on Thursday, but I haven't heard from them yet. I'm guessing since it was a long weekend maybe they were out. Hopefully I get a call back today or tomorrow.

I just got a call back about an hour ago from the nursing programs office that they have not been able to send out acceptance emails due to the upcoming semester and they've been backed up with a ton of work but not to worry that I GOT ACCEPTED!!!!!!!!! I am relieved, thankful and happy beyond words! I simply couldn't believe it, I even asked her if she was sure lol and she laughed and reassured me. So glad! Can't wait for you guys to get accepted as well!!

Congrats!!!!!!! I can't wait either!!!! I am studying right now for the exam and interview. I got an email from Sharifa not to long ago. I just have to pick my interview date

Thank you so much! Awesome Steven!! You'll do great!!

Hello everyone, I had an interview for July 16 but rescheduled it due to not feeling to confident for the exam. I will now be interviewing on July 30. Also, thanks so much Yudi for giving all that info to help prepare for the interview. I know someone who interviewed to start in August and they had around the same questions as well. I wish everyone luck on this adventure and I hope we all get in. Is anyone else interviewing on July 30th? Also, my gpa is a 3.5 right now and will go higher after summer because I am currently taking 10 credits and have all A's in those classes.

Goodluck everyone! I recently submitted my applications for the January 2016 start date. I was wondering if anyone knew how the school schedule was? How many days a week, how many hours?

Congrats to everyone! I just received an email with just one interview date (which i still havn't decided whether i should take it without completing anatomy or go ahead and do it with the knowledge i have so far.) Sharifa let me know that interview dates will be periodically updated so i should be fine if i choose to register further on.

That's awesome! I wish we could of applied to the same campus, and become study buddies lol :)

Hi!! You are very very welcome! Congrats on getting the interview and don't worry, just prepare as much as you can from A&P notes if you have any. I never really felt prepared either. I think the nerves get in the way and we loose a bit of confidence, I am sure it happens to everyone and its completely normal! I am sure you'll do fantastic don't worry! What campus are going planning on attending ?

Hi Gisselle! I have a couple of friends that attend Nova and from what they have told me the schedule varies. Sometimes you have 4-3 classes a week and the hours also change depends on the schedule you receive.. it could be either morning, early afternoon or mid-day. What campus did you apply to!? Goodluck! :)
