Nova Southeastern University Entry-level BSN Fall (August) 2015! (:

Published

Hi everyone!

I haven't seen a post about NSU's Entry-level BSN program for Fall 2015 so I decided to start one. If there is another thread that everyone else is on, please let me know! I double-checked to make sure there weren't any posts hiding but I could be wrong.

Anyway, I am waiting for my final transcripts to be sent to Nova. Other than that, now it's just the waiting game and I'm super anxious. They wont be calling people until Feb or March probably. I finished my AA with Broward College this December. I underestimated application deadlines and the application process to get everything together so unfortunately I will have a semester off from school.

I also applied to FAU's Traditional BSN program. I have a thread about that as well if you also applied to that school. You can jump over to that thread by clicking here

If all else fails I was thinking of just going back to Broward College, possibly their North campus.

If anyone has any stories or advice/knowledge about any of these programs, please share! If you're an applicant to NSU as well, good luck! Hope we get the responses that we want.

I think not having news at this point is good news. I'm sure they are reviewing the applications carefully to make their decisions! Fingers crossed...

According to the financial aid office they base the loans also from your fafsa application. There is two types of loans the subsidized and unsubsidized. I applied for both because with one is not enough money. The maximum per semester for each type of loan is as follows: subsidized $ 2,750 & $3,500 for unsubsidized. So if you multiply each of these numbers times three that would give you the amount of loans per year ($18,750) Plus also whatever they might give you in grants and that you don't have to pay back. Also, If I'm not mistaken you get $3000 for the whole year for going to Nova because its a private university. Hopefully we can avoid all this if we get the scholarship. Hopefully this helps you understand more or less because I was very confused at the beginning and was freaking out about not having enough money to attend. GOOD LUCK!! PRAYING FOR THE BAPTIST SCHOLARSHIP :nurse:

Thank you Indianny so much for the information you shared with us here as I am new at this. The $3,000 that you mentioned, how do we apply for that? or is it automatic given when you apply to FAFSA? Did you go in person to Financial Aid-Nova to apply/accept the loans and grants? Sorry for all the questions.

No problem, I'm new at this but I bugged them with the questions because I wanted to make sure I had enough money to cover the costs. The $3000 is automatic that they put in your awards. I also went in person to the financial aid office for some documents they asked me for and in there they will tell you how to apply for the loans, and once you have that completed they will send you and email to check your awards, and that time you can accept/decline the loans. It took a few weeks to get the email with the awards. You can always log in to the NSU student portal, and in the student tab there is the financial aid home which will have the award information, and you can accept/decline the loans there. Whatever they give you in grants and the $3000 which they have it under FL residency is automatically accepted. They told me the earlier you do your FAFSA the better it is for you to receive more :uhoh3: in grants. Let me know if you have any more questions. I did most of my paperwork to be ready when school starts.

Did you go to the main campus to do all of this?

Did you go to the main campus to do all of this?

I did it all in the Miami campus since I will be going there. Now there is another packet I did to proof residency, and that I had to send to the main campus but I don't believe you need to go to the main campus for any of the steps.
