  1. Hi nursenessaxo and Meeshie! Yes UA will have the logo. From my understanding they send it to an embroidery but I misunderstood that they charge for the embroidery I'm sorry about that. From what she implied the lady made it sound like all I was paying for was just the top. In the end it's sill a better value than the bookstore cause of the shipping but as for time it takes longer. I was told today that by the time we get to clinicals we have to transfer into the galaxy/cobalt blue bottoms. I was not sure if anyone else was told this. I'm kind of disappointed because it was already a hassle just to pick a color but I'm alright with it cause the galaxy blue looks nicer.
  2. Thank you nursenessaxo! i ordered them yesterday and my tracking info says it won't be here til friday so i'll have to wear the plain white scrub top i bought for now. I'm glad i bought it just in case lol. Also! I know Meeshie mentioned that a lot of Chamberlain students use Uniform Advantage. I was just there at the Pembroke Lakes Mall location. They told me that you can actually buy the white scrub top there and they send it to an embroidery to have the logo placed on. When it gets shipped back they call you and you just pick it up. Pros: It's only around 12 bucks (no shipping. I paid 12 bucks in shipping with the bookstore) Cons: It takes around a week for them to get it done. The bookstore ships quicker than that. This would've been helpful before the semester started though but I'm just mentioning it in case. If someone already mentioned this already I'm sorry for being repetitive haha. I went in today to get my Photo ID I saw a few students and they had either royal blue or galaxy blue so I guess it doesn't matter? I just wanted to mention that too. I should have bought that galaxy blue cargo style pants. They were so comfy lol. First class on campus starts Friday morning! I'm so excitedddd.
  3. Thank you nursenessaxo! I was going to do that as well and just wanted to make sure I was on the same page with someone lol. How long did it take for you to receive it? Thank you for reminding me about the sizes running big. I bought a white scrub top from the uniform store today just in case the one I order from the bookstore doesn't come on time. I'm going to order it now. The blue pants I bought are considered "Royal Blue" at the store I went to today (All Uniform Wear). They told me that BC's students wear that color and I was told from a previous BC student (who went to Chamberlain right after) used the same pants and it was okay. It just gave me a confirmation that it was the right shade. I did ask for a Galaxy Blue. It seemed too dark compared to what I saw on campus. Granted they were more comfy (they were cargo style) I just stuck with my guts and kept the royal blue. I just need my ID and my shoes. I'll be good to go soon! Also, regarding back to my schedule post, I read it wrong. Patho I is only 8am-11:30am on the first day then the rest of the class will be at noon until 2pm. Just wanted to clarify that. I still didn't find the info for the room number after though. I'm going to call tomorrow to make sure my paperwork was processed and that everything went okay then I'll see if I go in tomorrow or tuesday for my ID.
  4. One last question about uniforms! I'm not sure if it was previously answered but I'll check again just in case. When you're ordering the tops online on the bookstore, did you guys order the unisex white tops? It sounds like a dumb question but some tops specify it having the logo. So do all of them have a logo regardless? There's also one called "UNISEX WHITE FP 3PKT SCRUB SHIRT W/ CHAMBERLAIN LOGO " but it specifically says that the Miramar campus should order the white scrub tops. I was just a little thrown off on the website cause of the names lol.
  5. Thank you Melissawrigm! I do not have any little ones at home except for my new 9 week old puppy. I can't compare that to children obviously because of the different responsibilities but so far I've been managing working and taking care of him so yeah. My parents were expecting me to quit working completely but I've been working and going to school for some time now so its habitual. I'll try to keep it to part time and just play it by ear. I haven't been in school for 3 semesters so my study habits are kind of rusty haha but i'll pull through. Thank you for the advice!
  6. I was just about to ask about the uniforms but you guys answered my questions lol. Thank you!! i'm sorry for not remembering everyone at orientation. I'm sure if I were to see you guys in person i would remember (granted some of you guys have a photo of yourself here - i'm so bad lol i'm sorry). I only somewhat remember the people closer to me since there was quite a lot of us. I have Transitions on fridays 9am-11:00 (30?)am, Patho I on Saturdays 8am-11:30 (then alternate saturdays from 8am-11:30 then it extends 12pm-2pm - i hope i read the time slots correctly) and then Ethics is online. I'm not too fond about that 8am class, especailly since I'm supposed to work fri and sat morning so I have to switch with someone but its okay! I don't know how to find the room number though. I felt like I struggled trying to find the times/days but it was obvious to go under the "view schedule" tab lol. I just didn't see the room number anywhere near it. I'm sure i'll find it. As for the uniforms, i was thinking of going to UA in the pembroke lakes mall today but there's also an All Uniform Wear too. If most Chamberlain students go to UA then it might be easier so thank you for mentioning that Meeshie! I'm glad I don't start monday since I have nothing ready. I have to get my ID this week so I might go tomorrow.
  7. Thank you nursenessaxo! I'm sure you went to orientation today right? There were a lot of us so yeah lol. I still haven't received my account info for the student portal. I haven't done any paper work other than transcripts and financial aid. I haven't spoken to a financial advisor either. I'm dragging along but i hope to catch up in time for classes! I don't have a schedule or anything set up either lol. Are you guys planning on working during the program?
  8. Hi everyone! Just an update, I passed the HESI this past Saturday I received a call from Ada saying that they will put my application in review. I'm having trouble getting transcripts sent over. I think my Broward College transcripts should send perfectly fine. I took 2 St.Thomas classes so they want to see that transcript. Unfortunately, i don't have an ID# account with St.Thomas University because I took those classes in high school and St.Thomas uses a 3rd party system to send out transcripts. Its just been taking forever and it makes me nervous. I don't want it to hinder my chances of starting in September since I've come so far lol. I was told to attend orientation this saturday though! So I'm hoping that's a good sign. I don't have a schedule picked out and I haven't done any other paper work so hopefully my questions will be answered in a few days.
  9. I met with an advisor a few days ago and she told me i can still make it in for fall. I just need to do the paperwork and take the hesi. The thing is, its a little too rushed to do this all by the end of next week but its now or never! If things go well then i might join you guys :) congrats to you guys for getting ready to take another step closer towards your nursing career!
  10. Hi Anonymous105, I'm so sorry you had to go through that. I went through a similar situation where Broward College notified me of a scholarship I qualified for but it was a mistake and I didn't receive anything at all. I know that it was nothing compared to what FAU did to you but I thought of that situation when you mentioned this. It's upsetting that they didn't notify you or let you know that you could've taken A&P ll first since it was available before A&P l. At BC, you need to take A&P l then A&P ll (at least when I was completing those courses that was the policy) I can understand that there are so many students that they can't see everyone face-to-face but you're also an FAU native. You've been with them and they couldn't give you the time of day? I know favoritism isn't an option either I guess but still. Again, I'm really sorry they put you through that. It really is heartbreaking. I feel like I would be in tears and just really upset if I got an acceptance letter only later to find out I've been wait-listed. I hope they become aware of this issue so they can work harder to prevent this from happening again in the future. I'm not sure if you're still attending FAU but i really hope you get what you deserve since you sound like an excellent student.
  11. Thank you NurseTica and Belky84! I really hope they give me a chance at the interview after this class is all said and done. It's encouraging because they could have just rejected from the moment I answered the phone so you're both right, there's still time. Interviews will be going on through July so I'm glad I have a chance! Thank you both for being super encouraging too As for the science course I plan on taking, I was going to go back to BC to do it since the process to sign up for classes is easier and I'm more familiar with it. I thought of taking the class at Nova but I'm not considered a student there I think. I'm also a student at FAU (since I had to apply as a transfer first before applying to the program) so I have choices there too (at least for the Davie campus, since it's much closer) Right now the classes that are open at BC are limited since registration has been open for a while for the Summer term. The only classes that are open with good teachers are Astronomy and Oceanography. I wanted to take General Biology just to get back into topics that are closer to Nursing rather than Astronomy but the teachers I saw weren't too good. I know it's not a good time to be picky and if I really want to pass, it's up to me not the teacher but I can't help but want to find a good teacher lol.
  12. Congrats Daniel! That's really exciting You're going to do well on that interview I'm sure of it lol. I received a call from Sharifa as well. Unfortunately, it wasn't the same news for me lol. My GPA for the sciences alone are a little under the requirements that the College of Nursing is asking for. I was offered to take a science course and as long as I receive an "A", it should bring up my GPA and I should be set! It's not a guarantee for an interview, though. I felt a little embarrassed about my situation. I took up on the offer and by the end of June, I should have my answer :) It's a little bit more work but definitely worth a shot since she was suggesting the idea.
  13. Good afternoon everyone! ashtay06, you were right. March 13th seemed to be the only day for their interviews and they were surprisingly on top of that considering the push-back dates of the TEAS exam as well as the application. I received my rejection letter from FAU this morning. It's a little sad but it's okay! It just means that I was meant to go somewhere else. I wish the best of luck to everyone else who was accepted into the program. I hope everyone does well and maybe I'll see you around in the field itself!
  14. @ashtay06 Aw man! I mean to be honest, I figured as much lol. Don't be sorry at all! I would like to give them a call still but at this point, it doesn't sound too good. I was hoping they would at least send a denial letter. I'll try to see if I give them a call tomorrow.
  15. I hope that March 13th was not the only day for the interviews I'm sure they need more than one day to go through 80 applicants. (I heard that they only interview 80. Sorry if I'm wrong though). The orientation day is already in April according to the program page. I might try to give them a call. I'm a little nervous about it because I know my chances of getting into this program aren't that great lol. I gotta stay positive though!
