If we can buy any brand and not through the Nova bookstore, where do we get the engraving? Because if that's the case its cheaper to buy them outside the school. I wanted to get at least one set from the bookstore and the lab coat just to be ready for school, and then I will ask in orientation about buying other brands to make sure we can buy other brands.

oh good! We apply earlier even though we haven't done our taxes? how does that work? In that case I will do the same to have room for a little extra money. I'm going to wait to get the shoes since I have read they have to be all white and no logos. I want to make sure I don't waste my money and then I cannot use them. I will buy a pair of scrubs and lab coat to try the sizes, and then I will buy the rest.

yes, it's true. I can't wait to start and begin this amazing journey! Make sure to do all your paperwork for the loans and stuff so that when school begins you are not waiting on the loans to kick in. Thank god I had started all that already, I'm going to finish the immunizations this Friday :)... If you need any help you can always ask.

I didn't get a call either today. Hopefully we get the call tomorrow. Maybe they are calling in batches!! How do you know they offer the scholarship to 50? I think they only offer the scholarship for those who are starting in the fall and everyone who was accepted had the chance to apply for the scholarship. I don't know how many nova accepted but I don't believe is more than 100 students maybe 110 top.

I did it all in the Miami campus since I will be going there. Now there is another packet I did to proof residency, and that I had to send to the main campus but I don't believe you need to go to the main campus for any of the steps.

No problem, I'm new at this but I bugged them with the questions because I wanted to make sure I had enough money to cover the costs. The $3000 is automatic that they put in your awards. I also went in person to the financial aid office for some documents they asked me for and in there they will tell you how to apply for the loans, and once you have that completed they will send you and email to check your awards, and that time you can accept/decline the loans. It took a few weeks to get the email with the awards. You can always log in to the NSU student portal, and in the student tab there is the financial aid home which will have the award information, and you can accept/decline the loans there. Whatever they give you in grants and the $3000 which they have it under FL residency is automatically accepted. They told me the earlier you do your FAFSA the better it is for you to receive more in grants. Let me know if you have any more questions. I did most of my paperwork to be ready when school starts.

I think not having news at this point is good news. I'm sure they are reviewing the applications carefully to make their decisions! Fingers crossed...

According to the financial aid office they base the loans also from your fafsa application. There is two types of loans the subsidized and unsubsidized. I applied for both because with one is not enough money. The maximum per semester for each type of loan is as follows: subsidized $ 2,750 & $3,500 for unsubsidized. So if you multiply each of these numbers times three that would give you the amount of loans per year ($18,750) Plus also whatever they might give you in grants and that you don't have to pay back. Also, If I'm not mistaken you get $3000 for the whole year for going to Nova because its a private university. Hopefully we can avoid all this if we get the scholarship. Hopefully this helps you understand more or less because I was very confused at the beginning and was freaking out about not having enough money to attend. GOOD LUCK!!
