Congratulations to all the future Shark Nurses. I'm starting a new Nursing Club at the Kendall campus. Anyone registered at the Kendall campus is welcome to join. I am also looking for board officers. Please IM me if you are interested. Some of the activities we will have are seminars with upperclassmen, professors, and practicing nurses. We will also be doing some community service. I haven't decided on a name yet but I have two possible names:
1-C.A.R.E: Compassionate, Assertive, Respectful, and Effective nurses
Any feedback or ideas are appreciated and welcomed. Joining a club so soon may seem crazy but it's a great way to stay busy and to establish a strong support system.
Hey zdreams send me an email because profshaw has agreed to be our advisor. She said she was going to ask other profs to see if other students from the other semesters want to join. So we should be up and running soon. Ask jerziana if she is interested. Shaw suggested us adopting a charity and doing fundraising and community service for that charity. I think that's agreat idea, especially if it's a health related charity. We would be helping and networking.
Those starting in the winter, you guys can still have a second chapter in the davie campus. I will let you know as Sion as I find out the information on that.

I sent you an email to your private address that we spoke on before about this club.. I spoke with the activities director and we are allowed to have 2 chapters one for Davie and one for Kendall... not sure if you knew that... I already announced it to my scholar classmates on Friday and a lot were interested.... I want to join in just let me know what you want me to do.. I was already thinking of starting it and then heard you were on it so YAY we are on the same page... we can even have Kendall Nursing shirts too like in Davie... they are willing to accommodate us so we feel more in-sync with the Davie one... Professor Shaw is my counselor so can alway relay info to her as well. We also mentioned it to Prof thelwell.. So the more the merrier... let me know Nursekitty in class or by email this weekend and see what we can do.. Zdream mentioned she wanted to be something but i dont know what spot you want me to be in since you are starting it... anything but treasurer is fine with me lol... let me know... and also we are starting a volunteer club since we need community hours we can do them through this club as well I know the girl that is starting it up... this way we get our hours we need in just by signing up and we let you know when to be there and you dont have to worry about figuring it out yourself.... so if you are interested let me know so i can advise this other girl... I have some other names Nursekitty that may fit.... and you may like better.... i will send them to you or post them here... i feel the same karina :) i want to do something for you all of you that are coming to the kendall campus with this nursing club thingy... so hopefully nursekitty will respond to me or i will see her on monday in class and talk to her as well.. since we are your guides i think something nice could be done cause i know you are all full of questions and confused as well lol.... congrats to all sharks.. i have a couple of names that i think will work too... something that will make us stand out goooo sharks!!!!
Yes and you guys have been a great deal of help, and I am sure we can help all coming classes = ). maybe we should all come up with names and vote on the one we think will reprsent us the best ? Maybe wil should have a first unoffical meeting to sort everything out together ?
Good idea Karina.. i agree we should vote and meet... and all of you that are joining us soon we can advise you to meet at the kendall campus after our classes are done.. usually Fridays are the best because our schedules right now. But we can do something and come up with other slogans or t-shirts and stuff like that. I also think we can have like a pamphlet with frequently asked questions for those who are coming in like you guys and stuff.. so that you are not lost and provide our emails NOVA ones lol so they can contact us to so we can counsel them...??? yes or no? NURSES UNITE!!! lol im stuck with that sorry been saying it all day. But let me know... you know how to reach me :monkeydance:
