towards the end of last year I offered and sent a whole bunch of allnurses.com members my personal notes that I used to study for the nclex-rn exam.
I no longer have those notes. and I have posted that several times, but I am still getting requests for my notes.
If you do need my notes. I am giving permission to those who I sent my notes to..... to share them with others.
maybe we can start here.
so if you do want my notes, post it here........... and if you do have my notes post them here
and take that one minute to forward your e-mail via pm to help your fellow members.
I believe in helping others. Not just in health care, but in anything.

I've always found it odd that people want other people's notes. You learn best by making your own notes, and understanding the subject as you transcribe it.
Strange.
Also, I didn't like the notes (I'm glad someone posted them). I felt it relied and too many rules instead of critical thinking (like lemonade at room temp is the right answer). To me, that required no thinking, only association and memorization.
For the person who made the notes, she probably understood what she meant when she wrote them down, and seeing them triggers the info that she learned. But for someone to just print these off and use them for themselves is strange.

anyhow,
now that i've been working with my license these are tips that i am sharing regarding the nclex test.

I made the notes and to me they are great and helped me a whole lot. After taking the course, and ofcourse after reading the information, I improved my scores.
the night before my test, I read these notes 10x and the morning before my test I read them 2x. I passed my test at 75Q
I also had notes from a friend of mine who passed at 75Q and she had a lot of similar things that I have in my notes. Such as the lemonade question that you mentioned.
Yes, there are tons of little rules, but that is just test taking skills. which a lot of people need.
I offered to share them with people because I believe that they helped me.
If you don't want to use them that is fine. I just don't appreciate my notes being judged in some forum.

BTW. how can you expect for notes to teach you critical thinking??
these are obviously just personal notes and little tips on taking the nclex-rn exam.
and some people actually learn reading notes from other perspectives. I DO NOT THINK IT IS STRANGE FOR OTHER PEOPLE TO USE THESE NOTES AND USE THEM FOR THEMSELVES.
and if you do not like the notes that is fine, I dont apprecite my notes, that I made with such heart and love, being judged, when I am sharing them since they helped me out.
I read those notes and I must say that some of the information on those notes are incorrect and misguiding.I would suggest you guys not use those notes and also those notes were not very helpful during the nclex.
then I would suggest you go to your book and look up the information for yourself.
to me, I made them, and they are great and helped me.
thank you patty for sharing your notes with everyone, that is very kind of you. and thank you for offering to send them gwafuh2busrn. i have PM'ed you with my e-mail.thanks again!!!
you are very welcome!!!!!!!!
I hope that they help you, just as much as they helped me when I was in your shoes!
passed 11/19/07 at 75Q!!! wohoo!!!
I would like to say thank you to IamPattyRN for sharing her notes when she really didn't have to. :)
Also, everyone learns different ways. Some people learn best by group studying because they see the same information from other people's points of view. Therefore, these notes are more of a help than a hindrance, so the negativity is not needed. :)
If the information seems inaccurate, then asking Patty could help instead of trashing the notes she so kindly supplied to students who could use the help. That way, it is clarified and everyone is happy. :)
So, thanks again, Patty!

I don't need to use them, as I'm already a nurse.
Also, I don't expect others' notes to teach critical thinking, but that was my point! Thank you for pointing that out. My point was, instead of other students actually looking their own information up, understanding it, and processing it into their own notes, they are just someone else's notes for simple memorization of facts. The lemonade question for instance...now when people see lemonade as an answer (will never happen, BTW) they will immediately just think "oh, that's the answer" instead of actually using their OWN critical thinking.
As for being judged-well that's just a part of putting messages out on a public message forum. You can't control the messages or replies. So you will have to get used to that. You can choose to not reply to messages that you don't like though...
