I took the [EVIL]NCLEX PN[/EVIL] yesterday and walked out in disbelief. For some reason I did not think it was going to be that hard. Silly me. When looking at the questions I thought to myself "I never even learned about this." I had a hard time with the "who you should you see first questions-which I had a lot of. I felt like I guessed on the majority of them. I took it with my friend yesterday and she felt the same way. I know it is not supposed to matter but I was finished at 85 questions and so was she. Anyways, my question is what did people here have the hardest time with on the test and did you feel like you did a lot of guessing? I should be able to find out on Sunday. I just keep thinking about how embarrassed I would be to tell my work I failed (I'm working with my temp license now):imbar . I just can't wait to find out. I am due to have a baby in October and would like to enjoy the rest of the pregnancy w/o worries. Who knows, if I find out I pass I may just have it right then and there because I will be so excited and relieved.

I passed my NCLEX-PN on Aug 10, and I absolutely felt like I had failed when I walked out of the testing center. I think everybody does! I also got 85 questions, and a lot of my questions were priority and infection control (which I have heard are the higher level questions, so that is a good sign).
Try no to worry too much -- and be sure to post a message here when you find out that you passed:wink2:

I just finished reading the Kaplan review for the NCLEX PN..It said, to respect the NCLEX PN..It will be difficult..
For priortizing questions, Kaplan made it seem that you should see the patient, with an ABC problem first..If there is something wrong with airway, breathing or circulation, choose that patient first to see..That is how Kaplan works in teaching you strategies..
I wish I had studied from Kaplans also. I just used Saunders, which was good, however, I don't recall any questions like that. The ABC's would have helped narrow down the choices. Now I wish I could remember what answers I chose. Another question- Would you see someone who is having pain first or no (if the other weren't related to ABC"S). Our teachers always stressed this to us.

rorae - I also took my nclex-PN yesterday and will find out on Sunday. Isn't the wait awful? my exam stopped at 85 questions too. I had the priortizing questions, infection control and labs.
Our teachers also said to deal with pain first - I think only if there ISN'T any ABC'S patient issues. So basically the same thing that your teachers stressed.
Are symptom questions lower level questions? I remember getting a couple.
I am not sure but I got a few of those too. I hear so many different things it's hard to tell. I wish the whole "grading" process was explained a little better. It sure would help some of the stress!!!!
Kaplan wrote something about priotizing using Maslow's hierarachy of needs..Maslow stated that physiological needs must be met first..Pain is considered a psycshsocial and considered a lower priority..

Good point Bala Shark. I was just going to post that, since thats what Kaplan said. So everytime I had a question that had pain involved..i made sure to read all the answers first to find physical needs.
Oh, well hopefully I chose the right answers. Nothing I can do about it now. I will make sure to tell others who need to take it-what to study and keep in mind as far as the prioritizing questions. It will also be helpful for when I get to take the NCLEX RN (or if I need to take this one over)- I can't wait
I Keep finding myself going on to see if my reults are ready - I know that they say not for 48 hrs but I just keep hoping that they do an oops and give it to us early...lol. :)
I Passed !!!! :)
