Not what I expected

Nursing Students NCLEX

I took the [EVIL]NCLEX PN[/EVIL] yesterday and walked out in disbelief. For some reason I did not think it was going to be that hard. Silly me. When looking at the questions I thought to myself "I never even learned about this." I had a hard time with the "who you should you see first questions-which I had a lot of. I felt like I guessed on the majority of them. I took it with my friend yesterday and she felt the same way. I know it is not supposed to matter but I was finished at 85 questions and so was she. Anyways, my question is what did people here have the hardest time with on the test and did you feel like you did a lot of guessing? I should be able to find out on Sunday. I just keep thinking about how embarrassed I would be to tell my work I failed (I'm working with my temp license now):imbar . I just can't wait to find out. I am due to have a baby in October and would like to enjoy the rest of the pregnancy w/o worries. Who knows, if I find out I pass I may just have it right then and there because I will be so excited and relieved. :lol2:

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! My stomach is in knots, I am going to call here shortly to find out.

I Passed !!!! :)

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!:balloons: Isn't it a great feeling?

GUYS I TOOK THE NCLEX-RN

This monring at 8:30 am I;m having chest pain. my test stop at 76

I had teaching and priority questions 2 meds, 2 select all. Guys I know i failed.I need to go for a walk.

ShanLPN- Thank you - Yes, I'm on a high right now. It's so funny how we walk away from the test just really not knowing how we did.

rorae - I found out online and I was shaking as I was putting in my credit card number. Take a deep breath... Let us know how you did.

HOTGAL73 - How soon can you know your results in your state? Try to get together with a friend to just talk it out and hang out etc.. I found that helped me the day that I took it. Try not to look up questions like I did - that made me feel worse. I feel your pain. I'm sure you did just fine. If you walked away too confident then I would be worried.

Well my username is not working on the Quick results website and I have to call the Pearson office to get it-they aren't open till tommorrow. I tried to call the quick results phone line but my cell phone does not allow 900#'s.UHHH-I'm going crazy. I have to call my friends to have them call. This is sooooo stressful.

I know when you go under the section that says forgot username or password? it just gives you numbers to call, that happened to me last week, I was thinking it would just send an email with the info. I really hope you can find out today.

HI Roae,

You probably knew more on that exam than you think you did. It was probably your hormones on over drive. Good luck! with your new baby and crendentials.

Back in the day, when I took PAPER boards, LOL, I had to wait THREE MONTHS for results.

So, y'all should consider yourselves very lucky. Ain't technology great.

Since you missed as many questions as you got correct (everybody does), don't beat yourself up too much about questions out of your league.

Good luck.

There is no relationship to how you feel about the test and whether you actually passed or failed.

EVERYBODY thinks they failed. You just haven't been prepared to take a test before where getting half the questions wrong is EXPECTED. The test gets harder or easier until this is EXACTLY the case. And then measures that level of difficulty.

It's practically impossible to do that in school, where you are measured AGAINST everybody else. You CAN make subjective evaluations of how 'hard' those kinds of test are. You just cannot use that same standard to evaluate the difficulty of a test that measures YOU against YOU.

So, don't let this feeling get the best of you. It truly means nothing. I can't tell you how so very many times I've seen, "I KNOW I FAILED", followed a few days later by, "I PASSED!"

Put your mind at ease. The feeling that you 'took it in the gut', is all too common, AND completely misleading.

I suppose you are correct considering.....I passed what a relief. You're right it is such a different kind of test that it is difficult to leave feeling confident.

rorae- Congratulations!!!! that's great news.
