I am planning on starting at Northern Kentucky University for the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program online. Has anyone ever attended this program? If so any advice or thoughts about this program at NKU? Thanks!

I'm not sure how old this discussion is but i'm possibly enrolling in NKU's online AGACNP program october 2018. Any experience with the program yet?

I've spoken with them a few times. The application process seems very simple and straightforward. The program is 100% online, with no on campus intensives from what the admissions advisor said. I am definitely going to get started for a Fall II start date!

So...I didn't apply for the Acute Care program, but I am interested in the PMHNP program. I am hesitant because the application process seems...too easy? Am I being paranoid or are they desperate for students?

I believe it's just because they are a newer, up and coming school. The program I did my BSN through was the same way to apply to though and we had a 100% pass rate. Family in the Cincinnati area was raving about the NKU students and graduates that cared for them and that's what made my mind up.

NKU is not an up and coming school. They have been around for ages. What is more likely is that they wanted to streamline the process. I am noticing that they are trying to increase enrollment. I have applied for PMHNP program for Fall I. I am waiting to hear back now

i start in march for the pmhnp so far the communication has been horrendous. hopefully once classes begin I will have the resources I need to make decisions on my own and guide this process alone, because the returned discussions are pretty much nonexistent. feel like im throwing darts blindfolded thus far.

There is an NKU PMHNP facebook group. That would be the best place to talk to current students.
