Northern Calif Roll Call

U.S.A. California

Published

Hello - I'm in the true northern part of California, 70 or so miles northeast of Redding California in the mountains. I can see Mt. Lassen and Mt. Shasta. I practice rural nursing and we RN's do a little bit of everything up here.

Wow, this is an old thread! I'm a new RN grad (May 2005) and live in the Chico/Paradise area of Northern California. I moved here from the Bay Area over 10 years ago and love it here. I love working at a smaller community hospital and find that it's worth making a little less to have such a great work environment. My co-workers are like family to me.

I know this is an old thread, but hopefully someone's still around.

I'm a nearly done nursing student, I graduate May '06 :balloons:

South bay area native. Thinking about moving to the Hollister, or, Montery area when I'm done with school. Any one out there have any advice for a new grad?

Thanks in advance,

TanayNicole

Hi Everyone!

I guess I'll post, too. I am in the process of considering nursing as a second career. I live in Sacramento.

I am also from the far north part of California. Redding is a great place to live. Great views and having Shasta Lake so near. The river trail is wonderful, as is the Sundial Bridge.

I am Megan. I am 26 from The North Bay (Santa Rosa). I am a nursing student at Santa Rosa Junior College. I am a stay at home Mom to a 3 year old beautiful little girl.

I look forward to getting to "know" some of you!

Hi Megan and Shasta . . .

I live near Mt. Shasta - we got a boatload of snow last night. I-5 was closed 10 miles north of Redding and the freeway was lined with big trucks. It took me 2 hours to get home when it usually take an hour and 15 minutes. Slow going on slippery roads - thank God for 4-wheel drive.

I'm really looking forward to summer . .. .

Wow after reading this thread it made me homesick for Northern California. Lived up in Sierra County for 16 years, then moved back to Reno to go to nursing school. Now live in Salt Lake City.

Nice to meet all you Northern Californian's, Meghan and Stevielynn and also to you CeCiRN... yes, you got alot of snow up there near Mt. Shasta! More to come, I hear. I bet Salt Lake gets alot too! I grew up in Wyoming and got enough of that snow..... it is nice once in awhile, but I like having clear roads.....rain is ok...take care......

Hi All - Not sure if I qualify for "northern" or "central" CA, but I am moving to the Monterey area this month to start a job (new RN!) at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital in Salinas.

I am excited to be out of southern california, it's pretty but not for me. My significant other is in the military and will be stationed in Monterey.

Hello to all!

Hi everyone.. I'm from Union City (a very small city) right between Fremont and Hayward. I go to Ohlone College in Fremont and will be applying to their ADN program in the Fall but will also be starting a LVN program at the end of July at NCP Vocational School in Hayward.

I'm hoping to work at Stanford Medical in Palo Alto when I get my ADN.
