Northeastern University Direct Entry

Hi everyone,

If anyone has any questions regarding the direct entry program at Northeastern University please feel free to ask. I am a first year student and I am enjoying the program very much.

I'm not from there either, but I spent about a month there last year and also loved it! Beautiful, inexpensive, food was generally good, water was drinkable... Such a wonderful place~

I applied to the Northeastern direct-entry program in December and heard back last Friday

does anyone know when you start clinicals at northeastern? is it the first semester or in the first year?

pretty sure every NU starts clinicals right away. Have you decided between Yale and BC yet? I'm interested to hear what your decision was! Can't really go wrong with those two!

has anyone else heard that Northeastern has been having trouble getting students clinical placements (for the master's portion)????

i heard from a friend that this year two students in peed's didn't get placed at all for a whole semester....

I heard schools in Boston in general have a harder time finding clinical placements then schools in other cities since there are several programs (Simmons, BC, MGH, NEU, Curry, Regis, etc.) all competing for boston clinical placements - this is just what I've heard though, I've had no direct experience on this matter

Hi!! I applied to Northeastern's Direct Entry program starting in Fall 2010. Does anyone know when they start sending out decisions? And is an interview required?

During my year of admission, all accepted candidates were interviewed (some interviews were phone interviews since a few students lived in other parts of the country). Most of us had face-to-face interviews I believe. I can't speak to the process this year, though I know this is what was done in the past. The program coordinator is extremely helpful and would be happy to help you understand the process for this year's incoming class.

I also applied to NU's DE Nursing program for Fall 2010 ... I'm really nervous about it! I love the school, I got my undergrad from NU but the DE program is so much more competitive than other programs ... I considered switching to nursing midway through my undergrad but an advisor talked me out of it and told me about the DE programs, I had no idea how competitive they were!
