Northeastern University Direct Entry

U.S.A. Massachusetts

Published

Hi everyone,

If anyone has any questions regarding the direct entry program at Northeastern University please feel free to ask. I am a first year student and I am enjoying the program very much.

oh wow. How much longer does the specialty part take once started? I have an interview on Saturday! I am going to be doing a phone one, so I am a little nervous not having the face to face interaction!

Out of curiosity...

a) When did you guys apply?

b) Puravida, are you from Costa Rica by any chance?

I applied to NEU in mid November. I interviewed and got accepted before xmas. (which was a more than pleasant surprise/shock).

For neonatal, the specialy course is a year full time. But they only offer it every other year so it needs to be timed right...

I applied in October, and didn't get a call till last week.

I'm getting nervous/stressed. I still haven't gotten an interview for Northeastern :sniff: Does that mean that I probably got rejected? I talked to Janet a couple weeks ago and she seemed so nice and interested I was sure someone would've called me for this weekend. Does anyone know if this weekend was the last chance? I'm still waiting for a few more schools but I love Northeastern!

I applied and got everything in about a week or 2 before the deadline (Jan 15) and I still haven't heard yet either. I just havn't really stressed since I already got into BC and Yale (my two top choices). I wouldn't be too worried about it- I'm sure they are still getting in touch with people for interviews.

congrats to everyone for the acceptances!

Ya, I applied about a week before the deadline too and haven't heard anything either. I wouldn't worry about it, it seems like the applications are reviewed on a rolling basis!

Ah! I feel so much better! Thanks guys! And that makes sense too about the rolling admission seeing as I submitted my application in late December, so only a few weeks before the deadline. I got rejected from BC (not my first choice, but still...) and I thought I was a pretty good candidate (strong pre-reqs, volunteer/patient experience, etc), so I've been feeling some pretty strong rejection blues seeing as I haven't heard from anyone else yet.

I guess I panicked when I heard that a lot of people were hearing from Northeastern and I hadn't even had an interview yet. But as I said I now feel so much better. Thank you!! :heartbeat

no problem - good luck with the rest of your interviews/decisions!!

When did you hear from BC? I find it strange that I haven't heard anything from them either way. I'm not too concerned (I'm already in at Yale and Columbia), but it irks me that they haven't communicated with me at all, I wasn't under the impression they did rolling reviews (though, I also didn't realize U Rochester and Northeastern did, so I think maybe schools just don't spell this out on their websites).

I heard from BC quite a while ago (almost a month ago I believe) and I do not think that they have rolling admission, so you might want to call them. I also (haha obviously) did not realize that Northeastern had rolling admission. I kind of wish they did spell that out because I would have done my application earlier and would probably know my status by now!

Nope, I'm not from there, I actually just recently visited there, but loved it, and hence my name=) How about you, CharmedJ7?
