Northeastern University Direct Entry September 2016

Published

It's a little early but I just wanted to start this to see if anybody has heard from Northeastern University regarding an interview or decision. All posts about the school/application and acceptance process welcomed!! Looking forward to hearing from some people!

@kcullen1313 and @janae1084 Did they email you or call you to let you know about the acceptance?

I received an email last night

@byang Heard back by email!

@janae1084 The ABSN program does all online lectures, with clinicals at nearby hospitals and lab work/tests done on campus. I've been reading a lot about the program via the Facebook page and the Northeastern website but haven't found many testimonials. Let me know if you do!

@kcullen1313 - Sorry for the bombarding questions, but when did you interview (if you had one)?

@janae1084 - Did you have an interview with anyone at Northeastern? If so, how long ago did you have it?

No problem! I didn't have an interview at all. The email I got about my acceptance was the first time I had heard from Northeastern since I applied in November.

@kcullen1313 - Wow, congrats! That's really awesome/good news!

Is this your first choice? And what other programs have you applied to?!

I also got that email last night which was great news! I called and talked to an admissions counselor today, and he said I still have to have the admissions committee approve my application, and they will redirect my application to the ABSN portion. I'm a little confused because the email said I was admitted. Have you talked to anyone yet?

Just got a call this morning about being accepted! I applied for FNP. She didn't specify whether I got into the Masters portion or not, but I guess I'll see once I get a formal invitation through the mail.

Congrats to those who have been accepted. I would strongly urge you to speak to individuals in the online program now. The admissions counselors should provide you with contacts. I only had two online courses during my 16 months, and they were not clinical courses. In all honesty, I am not sure how I would have absorbed all the information had it been online. Perhaps it is a personal preference. My suggestion would be to talk to people in the program now, and see how they like it. Also, check who the professors are, as many are not the same as the on ground campus. Lastly, stick with your gut. If you know you need an in person program, dont just say "yes" to this program to get it over with. You will thank yourself for waiting for an on-ground program acceptance in a year,if that is what you need!

Just talked to an admissions counselor and finally got some clarification. Those who received the email about the ABSN program are being CONSIDERED for that program and are NOT automatically admitted. Indicating interest in the ABSN program via email forwards your application to the ABSN committee to be reviewed. Luckily, the ABSN program admits on a rolling basis, so she said I should be hearing back in 2-4 weeks. But damn, that email was horribly misleading!! :(

Wow! Thanks for the clarification

Hi! I was accepted into the Direct Entry Adult/Gerontology for Northeastern yesterday by phone! Just wanted to check in to see who some of my fellow classmates might be!
