I'm going to be at the NLC campus! See you in June for orientation!
Also, congrats for making it to the next semester to all new 2nd - 4th semester NLC/ECC student nurses & congrats to the graduates! :balloons:
Good luck to everyone!
I'm sorry Jaxia. I know the feeling all to well myself. If it makes you feel any better, there are people in the program now taking Micro that could kick themselves for not taking it before starting nursing school. So please, try your best to get Micro and A&P 2 out of the way.
I know it's hard to concentrate on your classes now, but they are still very important to your future!!!
I was taking Chem at the time and could barely make myself continue!! I had a good cry & snapped out of it....got my A. I also had to retake Algebra during the winter-mester to go from a B to an A.
I feel so bad for you. I really wanted you to make it, but I know you can't give up!!!
Thanks for the kind words. Yeah, I'm supposed to be studying for my A&P II midterm next week. I'm just really kicking myself because I was taking A&P II during the summer, but had some personal stuff come up and dropped it instead of taking the C because I thought I'd be okay with my support hours and GPA. If I had finished it, it would have given me enough hours regardless of the grade.
Now, I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I've spent the last year focusing so much on getting into this program that I don't know what to do with myself now. Who knows, maybe I'll get lucky and enough people will accept offers to other programs that I will make it in. Do the denial letters tell you your ranking on the wait list?
No. When I didn't make it, I emailed and asked for my ranking. They told me there isn't a 'rank list', but did tell me there were fifteen 4.0 students that didn't make it for Spring 2006, and fifteen 3.77 students will all support classes complete.
So, I knew I was somewhere in that stack of 30. I'm not sure if anyone, or how many were called in from that stack.

This program is getting harder and harder to get in. (I am wondering if it will bounce back to 3.77 for Fall 07...you never know.)
I won't be surprised when they start adding interviews for application process. Most of health care fields are getting more competitive... I know pharmacy school is way more competitive this year than last year...

When I didn't get in for Spring 2005, I didn't even think to apply for the Fall. Well, then come to find out I could have gotten in in the Fall '05 because the GPA getting in was lower than when I applied...but I applied for Spring 2006 and got in! I absolutely love my classmates and know that I am so happy I didn't get in when I originally applied.
God knows what is right, at least that's what I believe.
Well, I didn't get any mail today. So, I'm still hanging on to a sliver of hope that maybe they misprinted the cutoff.
And, I'm trying to find my back up plans. Anyone know of any other programs in the area? I know of UTA, TCU, TWU and Baylor for BSN and CCC, TCC and El Centro for ADN. I'm trying to see what else I need to do to get into each one of them.
Congrats to everyone that did make it!
Spill? Amy? Any news?

There's Trinity Valley and Navarro College for ADN. They're kind of a drive but I hear because of it's distance there aren't very many applicants so they accept almost everyone who applies.

i got in----i'll be at the northlake campus! i also got engaged on thursday! it's been a crazy 24 hours to say the least! my head is spinning.
jaxia, i still have my fingers crossed 4 you!
everyone that didn't get in:
-no matter what don't give up- i have been trying to get into baylor, twu, texas tech, cccc, brookhaven and el centro/northlake for over 3 years. i have a rejection folder full!!!! i have retaken courses, taken every entrance exam possible!!! and jumped through all types of hoops!
-if this is what you want, just stay determined, and don't give up! nothing worth having comes easy!!!!
(also, look into brookhaven cc in dallas off of marsh, they just started accepting applications for fall & spring) they require a couple of extra classes, but you can start taking nursing courses before you get accepted there like dosages & calculations, pharm, and patho)
