Congrats to all of us that were accepted to the nursing program at either campus for Fall '06!!!!

And you guys do know that THR has an AD program at their facilities for their employees? They pay for the whole thing and you work and go to school right there at the hospital.

I'd heard about it. How do you apply for it? Is the training at Big Presby?

Future DFW students who read this thread might want to know (I sure want to know)!

This is a SMART thing THR is doing.

They kill two birds with one stone- tuition, books and fees AND a part-time job WITH benefits to pay living expenses!

Has anyone else noticed that 'potential employee' part? That might open some doors if they are still accepting people who do not work there. Woohoo! Something else to look into :)

I have heard rumors that Methodist of Dallas is either doing the same thing or considering it, but I have not been able to confirm that.

Yes Methodist of Dallas was.

When I was interning there in the OR during my surg tech program, they were talking about it. The OR Nurse educator (a great lady) actually had the applications and was using it to recruit me and my fellow intern to stay at Big Methodist. A couple of the surg techs and an anesthesia tech had already filled out internal applications for the program.

I don't know what happened with the program as I started "travelling" soon after graduation (a long, dangerous, GP1, off topic story... :lol: )
