Congrats to all of us that were accepted to the nursing program at either campus for Fall '06!!!!

The syllabi have not been that helpful to me all 3 semester. I did not study by them and I did just fine. The only thing I needed out of them was certain forms/ formats. We have shared syllabi and copied them and shared the cost.

I went solely by the syllabus for the cardio test and did TERRIBLE on it! NEVER, NEVER, NEVER again will I go just by the syllabus. I would rather read the chapters, tested information or not, over, and over.

It did help out for stuff like DM that wasn't in the listed chapters, but I would have found that info out anyway. I definitely won't be getting $100 worth of syllabi for 4th semester.

That's insane.

If we all have to take the lecture course and the management course then they should be combined! Oh wait.....that would go against the TEA and the accreditation....you have to have a syllabus for each course. I agree though....I have never used them. Every semester my husband gripes about "buying" the syllabus (he is an accounting instructor for Cedar Valley). Wonder how much "kick back" they get for writing it?

I don't even think they write it anymore. Why waste money to send it to print when half of the students don't even buy them anymore?

DUMB! ...They should just put the pages on ecampus like the psych portion is.

Hey Katie....is there a pharm guide packet on your ecampus for 4th semester like there was for 3rd? If so....would you mind sharing it with us all? (Not the THR one...)

I don't see any pharm packet on my ecampus.

This semester we had some calculation and pharm questions on each test that one could miss and still pass the test. :uhoh21: I actually miss the big pharm test. No, I am not crazy (yet). Those pharm tests helped one prepare for those calculation and/or meds tests that are given by hospitals before employment. I think ECC should bring back the big pharm test and make it part of one's grade, and NOT a pass or fail the semester test. :chair:

I could not agree more Katie. I felt somewhat behind this semester with the drugs. Yeah....it was tough trying to learn all of the drugs before we even knew what they were "used" for....but it prepared us!

I don't know...."IF" they didn't make it pass/fail, it may be ok. That is just added stress. If you could take the pharm test 100 times, then ok.

I swear, it took me 3 times on that pharm test, yet when quizzed, I knew the information. The tests questions bit!!!

I think several people feel the same about the actual pharm test vs the questions on the tests.

sec. semester drugs weren't so bad, wait till you see third semester ;).

I agree, I'd rather have the Pharmtest back, but I also wish it wouldn't be pass/ fail.

Oh , what made me so upset, too, we had several test questions about drugs that weren't in the syllabus. They were just randomly picked from the book. So you better knew all of them..................

Truthfully, Jaxia used her inch this semester. I'm not even giving her that much room next semester :nono:. It'll be nose to the grindstone!
