I like the book boxes....lol All I use are the CDs/online stuff.

Hmmm....lets see what you can familiarize yourself with....

Stages/phases of labor, STDs, childhood diseases, immunizations, probable vs. definite signs of pregnancy, birth control methods, true vs false labor....etc.

These may/may not get tested over, but at least it will be review when you go over them in class. You can always go to the library, look things up online, go to Half-Price books and read stuff....lol

I just tried to think of some things we went over in lecture.

also Iggy has info about STDs and Women's and Men's Repro system in it , you can read that

1) It's summer and you are writing pathos.

2) It's not even 9 AM, and you have written 4 pathos.

:lol_hitti

Ok, so I started reading about burns and cancers from the medsurg book, too. But I will NOT start writing pathos or do calculations. ;)

The main thing I want is the CDs....that's about the only thing I used last semester. I do all of my reading from my laptop - my laptop is what I live by practically. I have one ruptured disk and 6 bulging and I cannot haul around those books. I save my back for the work of clinicals. Thank you though. My first semester book box is sitting there exactly as I got it less the disks...which irks me, but that's the only way to get them. Thanks for all of your suggestions. I'd love to have any notes or anything that you guys have that I could read over too.

Thanks,

Yang

oh, I understand, though, I never took any books with me to school , or clinicals. Mrs. B. will give you good Powerpoints that you can download. Well , I take that back I took my drugbook and my careplan book to clinicals.

I'm a superfast reader and I tend to read anytime I get even 5 minutes...so always having my books on me helps me get the material read. And yes, believe it or not, I nearly always have my laptop with me. It's like a pacifier or security blanket...not natural I know, but a fact nonetheless...lol. I've been watching the videos and everything, so I've done some stuff. I just want to be as prepared as possible. I hope everyone is having the bestest summer!

Good news folks...I just got a call from David, manager of the ECC bookstore and book boxes are in for all 4 semesters. They got them in today and will check them in tonight. They will be available for purchase after 12 pm tomorrow! Now I'm excited! Thought I'd spread the word in case anybody else wanted them!

I wonder if NLC folks can be as lucky.

Does anyone have RNSG 1423 lecture schedule/reading list/syllabus/etc. for Galloway at ECC. Wanted to maybe start some reading since the books were in.

I think all of us on here had Branscome for 1423. Galloway taught the pilot group and I don't think any of us were pilot for ECC. I have the lecture schedule for Branscome if it will help you to get started. I can't imagine it would be that different...Let me know if so....

Thanks Yang, but I actually found that one on another post...so I suppose I can just go off that - I agree it probably won't be much different.

NERD alert! HAHA

As a result of my boring summer blues, :D I have made this sheet to do the Beginning of Shift Assessment...so you make sure you covered everything, plus some. :D

Hope it helps! It's in a Word doc format. (Let me know if you find any mistakes, or any changes that you could suggest.)
