I just listened to those announcement, they sure don't make sense. They are talking about some TBA hospitals supposedly being canceled and such. There were never any TBA hospitals as choices on our sheet. Also none of those section numbers. As always,it makes me wonder if they know how to organize anything down there. I am happy with my clinical though, I got my first choice, I am at Parkland again. I didn't really want to go back to the same hospital, but I heard a lot of good things about the instructor, and I only have one clincal day.

Does anyone sell their books back each semester? (except med-surg)

I thought about it, but just wanted other opinions. I didn't do any notes/highlighting, etc...

I haven't sold any of my nursing books, yet. I know that we will cover some cancers from pedi and/or OB books 4th semester.

Oh ok....In that case, I sure hope they don't change the PEDI book for us before I get to 4th.

I thought I had heard that they were thinking of getting a new PEDI book for the upcoming 2nd semester students. (Which would be a "no buy back book" anyway..)

Parkland ended up being one of our choice....it wasn't before. That's ok..I'm across the street. HAHA I'm just looking forward to not having to leave the house at 0430 to make it to clinical on time!!! I get to sleep longer!!!! :lol2:

I just listend to that announcement twice....at the beginning it says changes for the Fall of 2006 schedule. It says to look at your schedule on June 13, Tuesday after 3:00....Well June 13 of this year was yesterday. I don't think they ever took that message off????

I know that they have switched clincials around this semester, but that message is old. But that doesn't surprise me at all!!:lol2:

You know you're bored when:

1) It's summer and you are writing pathos.

2) It's not even 9 AM, and you have written 4 pathos.

:uhoh3:

I figured I may never use them, but may as well copy/paste into a patho statement sheet and save them if I'm going to read about the illness/condition. ;)

I want to read ahead some, but the book boxes aren't available for 2nd semester yet....any ideas on things I can do to prepare for 2nd semester without having those books yet? Thanks!

to tell you the honest truth , i wouldn't buy the book box. The only thing extra you will get besides the content on the Computer CD, is one book that is a case study book, which has no answers. A friend of mine said she didn't use it, and I believe her. You will be so busy in sec. semester that you probably don't have time to do some extra case studies.

I loved the study guide for the Lowdermilk book, this one had case studies in it, too, and it gave you answers. I studied with this book, and it was very helpful. The pedi study guide on the other hand was a waste of money. I tried to use it a couple of time and did not find it very helpful. But I think you guys will get a diff. Pedi book anyways.

I got my books used from Amazon and payed half of what the book box would have cost me.

If you decide not to get the box, go to the bookstore website on ecampus and see if they have the ISBN # listed for your books , that is how I did it last time, than you can order your books elsewhere and save a bundle. The only thing you won't get is the access CD from evolve and that extra case study book. By the way I will sell some of the books, you can PM me.
