I am not sure how many of you interested in this topic right now, but I wanted to share the info I found. So, it seems that UTA no longer takes our speech class for RN to BSN degree. They want technical writing. :stone One more class to take if you want to go to UTA.

Doh! Thanks for that update. I'm still torn about where I want to go, but I do want to get my BSN. If all goes well, I want to find a program I can start as soon as I finish my ADN.

DCCCD offers (or used to) a technical writing class. I took it many moons ago. It wasn't bad at all. The teacher was a little kooky, but the assignments were pretty easy.

Hmmmm....it says that ENGL 2311 is the equivalent. I guess I'll see what's happening this summer.

5 AM.....yep...way too early when you have to study too! :stone I'll definitely have to go to bed early that day. (...Have to stay up late the night before so I will be really tired early in the evening!!) :clown:

hi everyone,

this has been a busy week,

Fun, I'm not sure, I think I saw you at the Parkland orientation, I wasn't sure if it was you or not :coollook: .

We start out on Med/Surg and then go to OB, L&D and NB. I guess we are just opposite you guys.

We really don't get many clinical days this semester , kind of sad. I counted 10 total which included the Pedi days, than add the two SIMS days. I wish we get more, I just feel I need more practice.

I was there! :) I had my hair down until we took our badge pics....hahaha When we were all together, I sat on the table to the right of Ms. E. I was in uniform, with a black turtle neck underneath. :D (I have long, brown hair, and I had my glasses on.) :clown:

(KATIE: I asked Ms. E about a C/S, she said we will get to see at least 1 C/S, and one vag birth. I don't see any of us not seeing at least one vag birth....holy cow...this is Parkland for Pete's sake! :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle

I'm the same way about feeling the need for more hands-on practice! I'm definitely going to think about a summer postition....at least part-time. I'm scared about loosing what little I know. :chuckle

We met Ms. A (my skills lab instructor) today for skills lab. I really loved the class! She was VERY helpful, VERY stuctured, and pretty much acted out step by step with each injection. (Washed her hands, put gloves on, checked the ID band....etc....it was great seeing a mini check-off being performed each time.)

We just decided on a date today, and will be getting flyers out Monday. It is a last-minute thing, but the other officers wanted to get a meeting in. (Especially with trying to get a new t-shirt design idea!) :)
