I'm going to be at the NLC campus! See you in June for orientation!
Also, congrats for making it to the next semester to all new 2nd - 4th semester NLC/ECC student nurses & congrats to the graduates! :balloons:
Good luck to everyone!
My friend has her Sims Baby today, what was your experience with that. Was a lot expected? I have it in two weeks and we feel like we don't know anything of pedi yet. Kind of scarry.....
My experience is that if it's snowing or icy in Dallas then all schools close.
Sorry, I didn't have SimBaby because it was icy on my scheduled day and they never rescheduled me. But I heard that it's OK. They know that you haven't had pedi lecture yet. I think Allison can help you more with SimBaby.

lol:lol2: , we actually have to do two, the baby and an adolescent. They say it's not graded. But they also say, they will give the evaluation to the Pedi instructor who will incorporate it into your clinical grade. So, still scary :uhoh21:
I am a little bit slow today so you need to give me more info. Where do you want to include NB assessment?Katie
The questions we have to have completed before clinical (Page 200 in the clinical handbook???) #2 says, "Perform a head-to-toe assessment and the estimate of gestational age on a newborn", and #8 says, "From an assessment completed on a newborn, make a care plan from birth..."
The Scottish Rite orientation went very well. I wish we had more time there than we do.

Have you talked about this NB question to Ms. E.? As I remember, you have to do that part when you are in the hospital doing NB clinical because everyone will have a baby there and you and Ms. E. will do an assessment together. But I am not sure if Ms. E. wants you to fill out a healthy baby assessment before clinicals. If so, use the lecture slides on NB assessment and gest. age. By the way, doing gest. age estimate is fun and Ms. E. does it very well. And babies are sooooooooooo cute.

The NLC SNA meeting is today at 3PM, and will go on despite the weather. I won't be there, but other officers will be there.
I didn't see any of you from allnurses there. Anyway, I have won a calculator. And I was lucky enough to get free pizza during the welcome back party. Good day at NLC. :roll

It was nice to FINALLY meet you! I kind of thought that was you when I saw you in the hallway looking into our classroom. I figured you recognized Spill from the pictures she posted.
I have already asked some of your classmates if they were Amy or if they knew anybody with the name Amy. :roll I am glad we finally met.
