Congrats to all of us that were accepted to the nursing program at either campus for Fall '06!!!!

I'm going to be at the NLC campus! See you in June for orientation!

Also, congrats for making it to the next semester to all new 2nd - 4th semester NLC/ECC student nurses & congrats to the graduates! :balloons:

There were a bunch of people there, suprisingly! (Yep, plenty of pizza.) haha

I had my daughter there, and I said, "Katie's not here". So, yep, I missed ya.

(My daughter had a 10:45 AM Dr's appt.)

I don't think we actually had time to get all done that we wanted to get done....like tour, etc, but we were in a lab room. So, they at least got to look around at manniquins, etc already out.

The factulty sponsor (Ms. M) was there, and she did a speech. I think her speech was very helpful.

I really don't think the 1st semester students got a whole lot out of it overall, but it was fun. ....Nice relaxing, free lunch.....haha

mysterious_one, I finally got mine paid for this week. However, the lady @ NLC knows my situation already. I called her on the 3rd, and she postponed the deadline to the 11th. I've had problems for several semesters now with the new person handling the scholarship (not at NLC). :uhoh3:

Spill....I forgot to tell you today....

I bought my B/P cuff off of Ebay. :)

I did ask Iris to clarify what to bring on 1st semester's 1st skills day. I told y'all correctly. You only need to bring regular gloves on the first lab class, if you have already purchased your supply pack, and your Fundamentals book. (Not the sterile gloves.)

The regular gloves are in your skills pack, or you can purchase other gloves. I bought some purple ones at Wal-mart. :lol2:

You have clear gloves (the regular ones), and then you have sterile gloves that are in packages. You only need to bring a few pairs of the regular ones.

On my first skills day, we did mostly talking/orientation. I know we learned proper handwashing technique. I don't even remember what we needed the gloves for that day.

So, how was your first day? And all of you first and second semester students? I am still sitting at home today. Wednesday is THE school day for me. Luckily the Welcome Back Party is on a Wednesday at NLC. :roll
