I'm going to be at the NLC campus! See you in June for orientation!
Also, congrats for making it to the next semester to all new 2nd - 4th semester NLC/ECC student nurses & congrats to the graduates! :balloons:
Good luck to everyone!
Today I went to EC to get my case studies for not passing HESI and there were sooooooooooo many people there. They had everyone from NL, EC, and THR from 2nd and 4th semesters who didn't make the 900 points. I was talking with some 4th semester students and they have to do 25 case studies- retake the HESI and if they don't pass again then they have to do 25 more case studies and then take the HESI again and if they don't pass that time then they're out. We were only assigned 6!!! 25- I couldn't even imagine!!!!!!!! They were saying that we are really lucky to have exposure to HESI before 4th semester..
Wow Christy!!! You're so good for posting all of that!!!!!!

somewhere in the mist of all those chapters, i think we realized there were some extra chapters ....out of place chapters, according to this schedule.
maybe y'all will get a better...more correct one. :) you do have lecture on test days, by the way.

Wow, 25 is a lot. How about yours? Do you have to do a lot of questions for each of them? I had 2 of my classmates calling me to confirm that they passed the Hesi. They are so cute, they can't believe that they passed. :) I have seen their scores so I know they passed.

Wow....looks like I'll spend every moment not on AllNurses studying for the next 1 1/2 years!
That is really sad. I just wonder what the relationship of the 900 points is. Were y'all told?
Are they thinking that you would have to have at least 900 points, or whatever the score is for 4th semester, in order to pass the NCLEX, or have they set the score way above what is needed?????

We were only assigned 6 and we all split them up and they're already done. They weren't that hard at all and I'm glad it's all done! I was thinking it was going to be something dreadful!! 6 seems like a breeze compared to 25!!!
It used to be 850 that was the cut off grade and you were totally out if you didn't get that. Now they upped it to 900 and give the option for remedial work if you don't get the 900 as opposed to just being kicked out and having to start all over. When I looked up the HESI scoring they had the score you got and your probability for passing NCLEX...here's what I found....
A.950 - Higher - Outstanding probability of passing
B. 900 - 949 - Excellent probability of passing
C. 850 - 899 - Average probability of passing
D. 800 - 849 - Below average probability of passing
E. 750 - 799 - Additional preparation needed
F. 700 - 749 - Serious preparation needed
G. 650 - 699 - Grave danger of failing
H.
They want everyone to pass NCLEX 100% so they can keep their good name so if you get a 900 - you'll more than likely pass NCLEX and give them their good marks. I guess I'm right on the border of average and excellent probability of passing NCLEX...
Wow...thanks for posting that, Allison.
So, the 4th semester take basically the same difficulty of exam and are expected to surpass the 950, or is there's just totally harder?
Does the 2nd semester HESI only cover sem 1 & 2, or is there a bunch of questions to guess as like a NCLEX book would be right now?

2nd semester HESI just covers things you learned in 1st and 2nd semester. I felt like there were more things from 2nd semester than 1st but I tend to run things together haha.
4th semester is expected to make a 900 also, I believe but I'm not sure about that. There is a lot more on their exam though but I didn't ask them if there was something from every semester or not. They say that their friends who passed HESI are saying that if you go to El Centro- you don't even need to study for NCLEX because they prepare you very well.
I didn't think HESI was hard at all. I was just extremely anxious and made a few stupid mistakes which were very costly. After passing 1st and 2nd semester tests- HESI feels like nothing. I just get test anxiety so bad that it affects my train of thought. If anyone has ideas for how to treat that- I would be more than willing to try it. I have a feeling I am going to need medical intervention as deep breaths and good night sleeps do nothing for me
