I'm going to be at the NLC campus! See you in June for orientation!
Also, congrats for making it to the next semester to all new 2nd - 4th semester NLC/ECC student nurses & congrats to the graduates! :balloons:
Good luck to everyone!
Hey Fun!
We used Lowdermilk "Maternity Women's Health" or something called that and James "Principles in Nursing with Children" or something called that. I didn't hardly read anything because there was just so much going on this semester and the reading is unreal but I wish I would have started reading in the summer. All of the chapters on labor and delivery and newborn assessment would probably be best to get over and done with. I couldn't stand OB so it would have helped me to read that before school started which could have resulted in a better score on HESI. I don't have the reading list as I never used it. I know this post doesn't help much but I thought I would just go ahead and post it.
They well prepare you for Pharm and I never studied it until the week before and I passed the first time. The Pharm review is a MUST!

And my favorite so far is OB with all the STD, L&D, NB stuff.
I read very little from the books, too.
Fun, I can send you a reading list if you really, really want it.
(I think MockTiral is once a year.)

lol...that does help.. Thanks. :)Is the Mock Trial every semester?
You and I are alike, I like reading and I'm sitting here reading my PEDS book as I type this and school got out last week--PEDS isn't till January .
Anyway, just being nosy, but what is a mock trial? I know what it sounds like, but what does it have to do with nursing school?

I would like it. The books may not be the same, but maybe I can get my brain in the right track. haha

click on "28th annual mock trial registration form". mock trial with real attorneys and nurses. i have never seen a trial with nurses before so it was very educational for me.

Sorry....I didn't see this post. Here's a pic from it. You can't hardly see because of the lighting, but that's all the lawyers/nurses up on the stage...in the "courtroom" setting. :)

OK....If anyone has any chapters info for second semester...please do share!
Katie, and all y'all now 3rd semester students....lol
What was covered? I know that y'all had different books, but what topics were covered so I can have and idea on what chapters to skim through during my trip. (Gotta keep my mind off of the driver...my husband!)
What chapters/books did y'all have to read? Maybe I can look up the info for those on evolve or something.
TIA to all....that's thanks in advance...I'm not wishing anyone to have a TIA. HAHA
