North Carolina Roll Call

Published

Ok folks - it is that time again .... there are many new names and faces (well avatars anyway) on our web site ... time to get to know the North Carolina people.

Lets give a location - why you are there, your current nursing status and anything else you might want to share ....

I am Patrick, the moderator for the North Carolina Forum ... live in Asheville - moved here a year ago from Florida and love the mountains and the moderate climate .... can tell you that Hurricane Frances breezed through town last week and gave us a lot of headaches! Anyway, I am a nurse manager for a med-surg unit and a single father of 3. I attend the University of Phoenix and am hoping to graduate with my BSN-MSN in the very near future. :coollook:

Hi! I'm from NC...born and raised in the small town of Rockingham AKA the "Rock". I currently reside in Winston-Salem. I'm now an NA pursuing a nursing degree if only I can get accepted into a program. I someday hope to become either a Pediatric Nurse Practioner or maybe even a Pediatrician. I've also considered becoming a CRNA but only time will tell.

Specializes in med-surg, oncology, critical care.

Hey, I'm in Gastonia, NC which is near Charlotte. Great place to live.

Specializes in Occupational Health, Urgent Care, Ortho.

Howdy all:yeah:I live in Hendersonville NC. I grew up outside of charlotte and have been in WNC for the last 19 yrs. I started as a CNA then Medical Assistant/EMT then Commuted from WNC to Charlotte daily for nursing school about 6 yrs ago. The schools here are extremely competitive and got right into Mercy-phew it was worth the drives in the end. I learned if you really want something you can do this. I have a daughter just out of HS looking at pre reqs for nursing. I hope to complete BSN in a few years.

I currently work as a nursing supervisor over Hospital owned physician practices, I worked on the floor of orthopedics for 2 years and before that occupational health for 2 years. I truly want to be OB nurse but not got there yet.
