Who wants to play the waiting game with me?
I also applied there. You should be getting a letter for an information session soon which is worth 15 extra points. Then a final acceptance/denial letter should come around the end of may, early June. I also applied to Sandhills cc and was accepted to their program for fall '09. They also do late consideration, but their final application deadline is May 18th. HTH.

Kcoa11, I got into sandhills cc in north Carolina. I also applied to fayetteville tech cc, but that letter won't be here til April. My dh wants me to attend FTCC but I don't think I'll get in. I'm just happy I got into sandhills!

So I guess I'm the only one...
Thanx dreamon, I will. hey Bunji, who is eligible to take the test? I don't have any nursing experience, and am thinking only people that have some experience would be able to take it. I have a meeting with my advisor in 2 weeks, so I guess I could ask her then. TIA for the info.

Thanx for the info bunji. I got my acceptance letter today, so I guess good grades were enough. I finished most of the corequisites too, but I still have to take cna I, English 112 and a business course. I also have to get CPR certfied. I am going to have a busy summer, but I'm looking forward to it!

Convincing a stubborn husband
I was also in a job I hated before deciding to pursue my dream of becoming a nurse. I was in the Army for a little over 7 and a half years, which was almost at the halfway point for career soldiers. I hated it. But like others in previous posts have said, you should pursue your dream of becoming a nurse, but you should also plan and prepare for it. If RN is what you want, then hold off on it for awhile and pay off your debts in the meantime so your family isn't struggling. My husband and I did that--we paid off our vehicles and credit cards before I got out--and then I went to school. I just try to remind myself and my husband that our situation is temporary, and one day we will be able to do what we used to, but money isn't all it's cracked up to be. And if mama's unhappy, the family is unhappy. One last thing. I believe that when God puts a passion in your heart, he intends for you to carry out that plan and He will be with you every step of the way to see that you have the means to do it. hope this helps

So I guess I'm the only one...
I hope good grades are enough too, dreamon. So bunji, did your SO have to reapply, or was she excepted the first time around? I was wondering how the instructors were as well. I expect it to be really tough, but do the instructors do their best in making sure the students are prepared, and that they aren't just collecting a paycheck? Also, I saw that Central Carolina had a 100% pass rate for the NCLEX, and I also considered applying to Robeson, but couldn't get anyone to respond to my email, and the phone number was wrong.

So I guess I'm the only one...
I don't know how many applicants are applying, but the NCBON website has only 140 available seats for their program. I called the school, and was told that the letters went out friday, or if they didn't go out friday they would go out Monday (tomorrow). So I should know by the end of the week if I got in or not. Before I even applied to the program, I met with my advisor and she said that since my grades were good and I scored high on the HOBET, that my chances were pretty good for getting in. But I don't wanna get my hopes up.

Who wants to play the waiting game with me?
i applied to sandhills cc and fayetteville tech here in north carolina. the sandhills letter should be here any day now, and i am at my wits end! i can't stand this! i won't hear from FTCC till may, but they messed up my transcript eval, so now i have to take a biology course i shou've taken in '07! i was told that they will still push my packet through as long as i take the general biology course, but i am already in micro and A&P II! i plan on filing a complaint with the dean's office. why should i pay for their error? (sorry, a little long).
