UNC BSN May 2014

U.S.A. North Carolina

Has anyone applied for UNC's BSN program which starts this May? I applied and am nervously waiting. Just wondering if anyone else is going through the same thing.

Ugh! Still nothing!

I was wait listed. Fingers crossed!

I was wait listed too. There is still hope! Good luck!

I was straight-up rejected :( But, I got in at Duke!! Best wishes to all of you!

This may be the wrong place to ask this, but does anyone know where good places to live for a UNC nursing student is???

almondhoneybee, there are a lot of good apartments on the stretch of 15-501 between Durham and Chapel Hill. I can recommend a few apartment complexes if you need specifics. Both my sister and sister-in-law lived in that area, and both were students at UNC and at Duke.

liliping, congrats on getting into Duke!!! :) I got in as well, but I'm leaning towards UNC. It would be great if you could tell me a few apartment complexes! I was searching for some apts but didn't know if they were good. How did your sister and sister-in-law like UNC and Duke?? I'm not sure how to send a PM on this website, if that is possible, but you can do that if you want. I want to find a cheap-ish place with my own bedroom and bathroom. Thank you!

I got rejected too, but according to my letter it was because I didn't read the fine print correctly. UNC is probably the only school that counts Stats and Psych 101 in their 10 year rule. :banghead:... I read "science prerequisites" as, well.... hard sciences, and I took those as part of my first degree which was, welllllll... more than 10yrs ago. :sarcastic:. So now I have to either re-take those and reapply for January or just go elsewhere. Congrats to all of you who are in though. Enjoy and maybe I'll see you in January as part of the ABSN cohort. :nurse:

Almondhoneybee, I can't figure out to send a PM. They both independently lived at the Evergreens at Mt Moriah. Durham NC Apartments at Evergreens NC: Durham Apartment Rental, Raleigh NC Apartment, Chapel Hill NC Apartment, Raleigh Durham Apartment There aren't many (nice) apartments in Chapel Hill. Most are dirty and old. This area of Mt Moriah is off route 15-501 and is right between Durham and Chapel Hill. It is a nice and up-and-coming area with lots of new restaurants and businesses. There are several other apartment complexes in this area besides Evergreens.

Thanks liliping!

Well, I got my letter of rejection the other day. :bluecry1: I am a second-degree seeking student (attended UNC for undergrad) with recent experience as a CNA and undergraduate research experience. I'm trying to understand why I wasn't even waitlisted, considering I am a mostly A, sometimes B student but I have to remember that mostly first-degree students are admitted in that 106 number. Congrats to all who were accepted!

I'm keeping positive. I've already started my application for Duke's Spring 2015 ABSN program and will also be reapplying to UNC's ABSN program, which might be more accommodating for us second-degree seeking students.

I got taken off the waitlist!! Yay now I have all that paperwork to fill out. Quick question though! Do you know anything about the current health assessment? Is it a complete physical with blood work etc.?
