.5ml/kg/hr is low. Needs to be @ least 1ml/kg/hr.
Thanx. (why is that info so hard to find?)

our hospital likes 2cc/kg/hr for 24 hours. once below that we start to look at it.
In one nclex question in the Saunders book, 1-3 ml/kg/hr was considered "increased". Based on that, for the sake of nclex, I'm going to consider it 1ml/kg/hr. But good to know what could be hospital policies. Thanks JenKatt.

We use 2 ml/kg/hr, except in newborns for the first 24 hours or so.
Merenstein and Gardner, Neonatal Nursing is the best reference for neonatal ??s.
