How many of us are out there?

I am 34, married with a 10 month old. I already have a bachelor degree and a master of public health. Hoping to be accepted into a nursing program this fall. Waiting for letters is soooo hard!

I'm 41, married without children. I have been working as an Lpn for 8 years. I am presently in a RN program with 7 weeks of Critical Care left before graduating in May 2014.

im 25, no kids, hoping to enroll to start classes this summer for my pre-reqs! im so super excited and ready!

all boys! wow! that really cool!

I'll be 30 in May, am married, and have a 2 yr old and 8 month old. I'm hoping to start an ADN program in the Fall. I graduated with an AAS in Surgical Technology in 2009. I have been working as a Certified Surgical Technologist for almost 4 years.

Specializes in ICU.

I am a 38 year old single mom with an 8 year old boy. Applying to the program for fall. My son is very active in competitive judo. As a matter of fact we leave Thurs. morning for the 16 hour drive to Dallas for the Scholastics Nationals Competition. I have a very busy week as I will be missing a few days of school and a couple of tests that I will have to take on Wednesday. I am very fortunate that my instructors are also parents with busy kids and understand what we are doing and are not having a problem with me missing a class. My son's goal is to be a national champion and hopefully compete in the Olympics someday and he is very good at this so we often travel. We actually get to go to Hawaii this summer and I am so excited. I have a math class I will be doing online though so I may be on the beach with a laptop. But just as my son has dreams, so do I and I am showing him how you can reach your goals if you want it and work hard enough.

Hi new here!! 30 married 2 girls (3 yo and 6 months) have 3 more pre reqs. Happy to not be alone in this.

I don't have any kids but its good to know that I'm not the only one trying to take the leap into nursing.

I'm a 30 year old mother of 2 (3.5 and 2) and have been with my husband for almost 10 years. I've been an LPN since 2005 and just applied to an LPN-RN bridge program. I'll find out in June if I get to start in the fall.

I am 34 (35 in November). I have 2 boys, a 10 year old and a 20 month old. Separated. So a single mom. I work full time and I am hoping to start my prerequisites this summer. I only have 4 to take so if I get done by January I will be applying for an August 2015 program. If not ill apply for the January 2016 start date :)

Hello! This is my first post here. I am 49 and am about to begin my prereqs. I just started my second marriage and am looking forward to starting my second career. First was veterinary technician which lasted 10 years. I raised two sons and now have 2 teen aged stepsons. If I turn out to be the oldest in my class I won't worry. I was 37 when I went to vet tech school with most of my classmates being 18 year olds. They treated me like their mom which was quite helpful. I've got great support at home now that I didn't have then as well so I am cautiously optimistic.

I'm a 42 yo husband and father of 5 wonderful children (4 boys and 1 girl, she's the baby). I've been working on my pre-req's off and on for a few years and I'm almost done. It's taken so long because I work overseas as a contractor. I work overseas for a year then go home for a year, take a couple of classes and then do it again. I'm currently finishing up a 2 year contract and I think I'm going to call it quits on this. I'm ready to get back home to be with my family and put my focus on school.

Hi everyone!! I am 30 years old, I have a 5 year old daughter and I am married. I will be finishing my last two pre-requisites classes and one nursing processing class this summer and after that I am going to be applying to the nursing program in the spring. It's been a long road but I will make and so will y'all.
