Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

How many of us are out there?

I am 34, married with a 10 month old. I already have a bachelor degree and a master of public health. Hoping to be accepted into a nursing program this fall. Waiting for letters is soooo hard!

I think our numbers are more than we think after reading this...I'm 45, married, 3 boys at home (17, 14, 12) & a 22 yr old away at Univ. of Texas himself. Just finished all my pre & co-reqs & applied to several ADN programs for fall. Also just got my CNA so I can get some experience during the wait!

I'm 27 years old with a 5 year old daughter. I've been married for almost 6 years and we just bought our first house last year. I've been working as a CNA for nearly 4 years, first on a telemetry unit of a hospital and now in labor & delivery/postpartum.

I'm finishing up my last prereqs this semester and then I'll be applying to the nursing program. If all goes as planned, I'll get my BSN in December 2017, just after my 31st birthday.

I am 42 yrs old with 4 kids (24,23,4 and 3) and a very supportive hubby who works his tail off so I can do my dream! I just got accepted to a program after 4 years of prereqs! I am so excited I can't stand myself!

I'm 30 with an undergrad in finance and masters in international business. I have been working in real estate development and renewable energy development for the past eight years. Starting an ABSN program this fall. So excited to get away from the desk and into the field where life really happens!

Hi cycle22, Congrats on getting accepted into a accelerated BSN second degree program...Good Luck!

I have been accepted into my 1st and now waiting on my 2nd notification of acceptance to the accelerated second degree (BSN) program, cross your fingers for me!!!

I did the first two years on antidepressants and Xanax, the 2nd two years on Red Bull & vodka, my marriage crumbled, I lost my house, and gained 50 lbs. But somehow, I pushed through. I graduated magna cum laude and passed NCLEX on the first try.

Wow!!!!!! And...you gained weight...How????? :)

Specializes in CCM, PHN.

LOL yep!!! I've lost it since then though. :)

Single mother of a 5y/o, living with parents as a stay-at-home mom until I finish school. I just turned 40 and am finishing up pre-req's. I will apply next spring. Our program is competitive and hard to get into so I'm focusing on GPA. I'm at a community college and hoping that won't count against me in the long run. For now, I'm relishing the opportunity for an education even if it doesn't pan out, but will still seek a career in the medical field.
