No alternate or math questions?

i took my nclex and received no math questions.. got 105 questions and passed... i'm sure you passed it.. did you get a lot of priority questions?? priority questions is a good sign...

Runrgrl, what kind of questions did you receive? Did you receive any priority questions? Just because you didn't receive any math or alternate questions doesn't mean you didn't pass. As I've said before, this is a test where no one comes out feeling like they've passed it for certain. Hang in there and keep us posted, OK?

I took the nclex in August and didn't get not one select all that apply. I got one drug calculation at the end and it shut off at 75. I told one of my teachers from nursing school and she said it meant I did very well because she thought select all that apply are lower-level to medium type questions. She figures those type questions are asking more knowledge based questions.

Funny thing is that everytime someone asks me what question number my test shut off at I say 75. Truth is...I have no idea!!! I don't even remember seeing where the # was listed. Once I finished the test a woman asked me what number I stopped at and I replied that I had no idea. She said the numbers were at the bottom left of the screen!!! How stupid do I feel? haha. I guess I could always use the excuse I was too focused!!

Anyway - most of my questions were priority. It felt like all of them were!!! Alot of the questions were also about standard precautions, contact precautions, etc..

Priority questions are a good thing. That is what you want to see on your exam.

I didn't get any math or alternate questions on my exam either. In fact, I don't remember it being a lot of questions in any one area because the topics were from all over the place. I felt like most of my questions were difficult, and there were some that were so over the top that I had no choice but to guess. But I got a lot of prioritizing questions, and then I shut off at 75...and when that happened I thought I would have a heart attack. The worst thing about NCLEX was waiting two days to know the result.

When I took the test in February, I received 12 choose all that apply, and two dosage calculation questions, it turned off at 75, and I passed. Around the time that I took the test there seemed to be a lot of alternative questions, but I also know of several people who had no althernative questions who still passed at 75.

I agree with the poster who stated that the test is designed so that no one will be SURE that they passed when leaving. You worried that you got no alternative questions, my worst nightmare going into the test was the multiple answer questions that I got so many of. I never ever got all of the correct answers to those during school
