Why are you REALLY going into nursing? Honest answers please.
i was in it for the money of course and also helping the elderly.. now, i;m not even sure if it's all worth it... i wish i took a different path... i just started and i feel like quitting already... is that even a normal feeling?? did anyone in here feel like this too when they just started??? it is a secure job however, but i would rather do something else than this.. but now, i feel like i have no choice because too many people are depending on me... otherwise, i would have called it quits...

telemetry for new grads
i will be starting orientation on telemetry floor soon.... i havent even started but yet i feel very stressed already... other nurses who i know have asked me where i will be working and when i tell them "telemetry", most of them say " you gotta get out of there as soon as possible." after accepting the job offer that's when i kept hearing horror stories about telemetry... would anyone recommend telemetry for new graduates? for those who worked in telemetry unit fresh out of college, what was your first 6 months like?? thanks everyone..

telemetry nurses
thank you so much for the respond... reading your responses make me feel better about the job offer.. i guess one of the challenges i will face is reading the strips which i don't really have a problem with... i was just worried because nursing students and other nurses who were non telemetry nurses told me that they will never work on a telemetry unit because cardiac patients are always coding and are in very critical condition... so how busy is telemetry compared to others?? just curious.
