Anybody here who took the Pearsons Vue NMC exam? How was it? TY!
Regarding HCA in the UK. A qualified nurse isn't listed on the short skills list in the UK Silverdragon102 the profession was removed from the short skills list a few years ago. A HCA is regarded as a skilled job in the UK.You are entitled to apply for a vacancy as a HCA if the vacancy advertised welcomes applicants from outside the EEC, they are 3 main requirements for a tier 2 sponsorship: 1: that the salary offered is above 20.800 UK pounds a year; 2: the applicant has savings of 945 pounds in their bank account for a period of at least 90 days unless you are sponsored by a A rated sponsor and won't be claiming any benefits during your stay; 3: a requirement proving your level of English in writing, reading, listening and speaking is at B1 level or above, (i.e.l.t.s academic UKVI 6.0 score is sufficient). Refer to UK Goverment tier 2 sponsorships for more information. Tier 5 sponsorship is obsolete in the UK now.
I hope the information helps you Maxolon 2477.https://www.gov.uk/tier-2-general/overview
I have never heard of HCA getting more than 20,800 UK pounds a year seeing as RN starts at
21,692 and the adverts I see for HCA are between 14,500 and 19,500
Job advertisements differ substantial in the salary paid to a HCA, if you are searching outside of London then the salary isn't as healthy as in a inner London or outer London hospital.
Several Hospital Trusts within the London inner and outer London area offer salaries exceeding the required amount known as fringe or London benefits the same as a grade 5 qualified nurse is offered in London because of the high cost of living in the capital.
The biggest obstacle would be a hospital proving that the vacancy could not be filled by a applicant from in the UK or EEC country.
The requirement is to gain a 70 points score when applying for a tier 2 visa. If for example the trust can prove no suitable applicant within UK or EEC area had not applied or has no suitable qualifications then they would consider offering it to a non EEC applicant only then you would gain 30 points on the 70 points required scale to work in the UK as a HCA along with other requirements explained on the UK Goverment tier 2 sponsorship.
like I mentioned this is very un likely this would be the case but most job adverts even advertising NMC registered nurses applying from outside the UK and EEC are worded the same.
The trust must provide evidence that no UK or EEC nurse is found suitable for the post, many trusts are ignoring this procedure because of the shortage in specialised nursing.
David Cameron the Prime Minister of the UK has promised a referendum for the UK by 2017 but 1st of all he's negotiating demands set out by him hoping he can deal with the EEC ministers and then if he achieves this he will ask for a 'YES' campaign in the Houses Of Parliment encouraging people to stay in EEC during a referendum.
If he didn't strike a suitable deal for the UK and a referendum is announced and a public vote wants the UK to withdraw from the EEC then present legislation will change in the UK workforce, no longer controlled by Brussels on the UK recruitment procedures.
I hope this information is helpful. Also now the UK Goverment have capped NHS trusts spending money on agency Nurses working in the UK and because of safe staffing levels maybe now we will hope to see a increase in international nurse being re cruited directly by the NHS hospital trust itself instead of plugging the gap with very expensive agency staff already in the UK. (Correction) as stated in another post I mentioned a 6.0 score in all 4 ielts academic is sufficient to apply the correct band score is a 6.5 band score in all 4 subjects apologies for the error in a earlier post.
LOL.. just recieve the email that i passed the CBT..Thank God..
sooo good to know that! congrats! now I am gathering more courage with that great news. how was the exam? is it hard? I am still lost with the blue print but I started studying the links already and I am still at domain 1.

hi everyone! my school does not have a mobile num. but it's on the NMC Registration site. however, there is no asterisk so i assume it is not necessary. am i right? also, my references and doctor did not place anything on County/State, but on the NMC site, there's an asterisk beside it. can i just put my province in the blank field on the site even if it is not on my forms? or should i go back to my senior nurses and doctor to have them fill out the County/State?
yah! forgot to mention that.so when can I transfer these documents? after the CBT? I am just about to take the exam...
Hi...you can send NMC mail after you pass your CBT, and pay the 140 assessment fee. I was also transitioning from the old process to the new process. So after i passed my CBT and paid my assessment fee again, i wrote NMC an email asking them to transfer my documents and the reasons why those documents were to be transferred.
i hope that helps...good luck..

Yeah, mobile number isn't required. My college doesn't have mobile either.

You should fill it out in the online form since it's required. If it's required in the reference forms then have them write it in. If not, then it doesn't matter.
@reikanji
If you've submitted them less than 9 months ago, then you can petition for them to have those forms transitioned into the new scheme. The best of luck on your exam. =]
