NMC Test Online

Anybody here who took the Pearsons Vue NMC exam? How was it? TY!

@ johnnnius, Yes. That would be okay..since they want the employer's dry seal.

The employer's dry seal should be fine. The only forms that really stressed me out were the transcript of training and employer references. ASC personally handled everything on the PRC end.For future reference, NMC accepts official dry seals for their required "stamps."

Hi everyone. NMC sent me an email last Thursday saying that I need to send an additional document/letter to confirm that my referee is indeed a senior nurse. I don't know why but her contact details are on the submitted employer reference form. They could just call her to be honest. :/ anyway, this is the message I received once I logged-in on my NMC account:

Subject:

Your reference must be completed by a senior nurse/senior clinician who has supervised your practice. If the referee is a senior nurse/clinician they can confirm this on headed paper.

Message:

Please download a new employment reference form one; this will need to be completed by a senior nurse, manager or clinician. Your previous form was completed by a staff nurse whom we cannot accept.

I can't understand what they want me to do. Do I just need to submit a headed letter confirming that my referee is indeed a senior nurse or should I make another reference form?

Thanks!

Did your referee write "staff nurse" only in the reference form?

@Kurokocchi

Yeah. Haha. The way I understand the message is that I need to supply a headed letter confirming that she is indeed a senior nurse and I do not need to submit another employer reference form. Am I right? :) thanks!

Actually, that's not how I understand the email. See, there is no instruction saying you send them a declaration letter confirming your referee is indeed a senior nurse. So no, I think you need to send them another reference form from a different referee this time.

Beg to differ, actually there is an instruction saying that I can send a letter. It is actually ambiguous. :/ The first part of their message says:

Your reference must be completed by a senior nurse/senior clinician who has supervised your practice. If the referee is a senior nurse/clinician they can confirm this on headed paper.

So the way I understand it is that if my referee is indeed a senior nurse, she can confirm it via headed letter. However what made things a little bit off is the succeeding paragraph they included.

I think if you really want to confirm that your referee is a senior nurse, you have to send them a letter from him/her confirming it. But if he/she is not, then you have to download a new employer form 1 and let someone else (head nurse/nurse supervisor/chief nurse not just a staff nurse) fill it out for you.. This time, they have to be more specific regarding what is really their job title.

I read that part perfectly fine, thank you. =)I actually wondered if it was an instruction at first too, but then thought twice about it.Is that the full email they sent you? I am not being contradictory just for the sake of it. I just want to help.

That's how I understood the email too. I actually called them last friday but the guy I spoke with repeatedly said: "I think" he said that "I think you just need to send a letter if indeed your referee is a senior nurse." I was a little doubtful about that cause I assume that he can give me a more concrete answer than "I think". So I decided to post here in allnurses in order to see how people understand it and if chance allows, to have someone who had the same experience.

I guess I'm going to just send a letter confirming that my referee is indeed a senior staff nurse then. Thanks. :) Gonna do it with crossfingers and high hopes haha. Sending documents is expensive. Grrr.

Actually the email only says: We require additional information in order to continue processing your application.

Please login to access the assessment feedback.

Thank you.

Yeah. That's that. :/ And when I logged-in, that's when I saw the message I just posted earlier. Man, I'm getting frustrated tbh. My papers were with them for a month and a half already and they just informed me about it last Thursday. Grrr.

Oh, so you already called NMC. I guess that changes things. Sorry about that. It's just that I've sent NMC two declaration letters in the past and they've been clear about what I needed to write to them on both occasions, never this vague. By the way, it's not you who'll be writing the letter but your senior. You'll also want to put in up to two witnesses (name, signature, address, contact details) to further support its validity. So NMC knows what it is about and can sort it properly, the letter should be titled "Declaration of _______________________________". Just fill in the blanks. It doesn't have to be a long letter, just all the necessary details you want NMC to know.Hope this helps.
