Anybody here who took the Pearsons Vue NMC exam? How was it? TY!

@andy_rn

Would you mind sending it to me as well please my email ad is [email protected] appreciate it.

i spoke with a nursing company recently - they said the passing rate went from 6% back in nov/dec to 85% now in jan/feb so it's a lot more realistic.

I took my exam on the 11th of March and they passed. The questions were all basic nursing questions mostly applied question. Is there any one who has applied for the OSCE? Nobody seems to be talking about it, some info please any one with information

I passed my CBT exam!! Does know what I have to do next? My agency is Continental Travel Nurse, they have been amazing with helping me through all of this. I live in Brisbane, Australia and hoping to fly to London in a month.

in regards to the exam, like everybody else - relax and take your time, read through each question carefully they give you 4hours for it so need yo rush etc.

the questions for me I found were general nursing questions, infection control medical, surgical. I would highly consider the book they recommended I found very useful!

My computer keeps freezing sorry for the grammar errors....

Congratulations to those who have passed already!

My anxiety kind of decreased after relaxing for a few days. So, I am back to studying.

To those will be under CTN, congrats! ^^ Hope to meet you all in a few months!

when will u take your exam? God bless

Good morning nurses~ ^_^

You know, I find the videos that depict nursing in the UK setting--like the Royal College of Nursing videos (some, not all)--on youtube kinda helpful too. Sure the information doesn't compare to actually reading, but whenever you don't feel like popping open any study materials on your desk or in your PC/tablet, then these videos make good alternatives. For me, they're good for driving home further whatever it was that I've just read and make understanding it easier, giving pragmatic and grounded visual examples to settings only described in text.

Hi Skye! Congrats!! And glad to see someone in the same agency! Just in a month eh? Did CTN advise that timeline to you? I'm still in the assessment stage, so they can't say as to when I can fly out to London, nor can they tell me as to the hospital. (Not even sure if the hospital will be inside London). I asked CTN's local agency (IPAMS here in the Philippines) and they said it's only before deployment will they know which hospital will we be assigned to.

I know you have to do a lot of paperwork here on out during the Assessment Stage. You can only take (and schedule) the OSCE test once you've completed everything in the Assessment Stage. (IPAMS advised it usually takes 2-3 months for this, depending on how fast you can process your paperwork from your school, local registry board, etc.) I know CTN will arrange your OSCE exam for you as well. And you have to have a schedule before flying out. In the Philippines too, I might mention, CTN hasn't deployed nurses yet who is doing the new NMC process. All those deployed (and be deployed this March and April) are all still under the old NMC process.

I think all agencies are still wrapping their heads around the new NMC process. Especially now since there have been a lot of nurses doing it. Only a few really know what to do next. So it's still uncharted territory with the new NMC process, I reckon.

Anyone out there under CTN (IPAMS in the Philippines) as well? I hope we can strike a conversation about this :)

I already have my papers ready for the assessment stage since I already submitted them as part of both packs in the old scheme. NMC sent out an email that I could have most of the papers transferred into the new scheme. I'd have to pass the CBT first though. Just 4 more days I'm really anxious. >_

I had BLS training but it doesn't matter where I got it since it's long expired now. I don't think UK hospitals accept or need those qualifications anyway. If they want you to have certain skills and certifications, they'll train you for it themselves.

Thanks for for your reply @Kurokocchi. Mine has expired too and I just want to renew my trainings and have those certificates come in handy should my employer ask for those.
