NMC Test Online

Anybody here who took the Pearsons Vue NMC exam? How was it? TY!

I know that someone. It's me HAHAHA XD

hi to all!

Does anyone here have review materials for the OSCE? Thanks!

I already have my papers ready for the assessment stage since I already submitted them as part of both packs in the old scheme. NMC sent out an email that I could have most of the papers transferred into the new scheme. I'd have to pass the CBT first though. Just 4 more days I'm really anxious. >_

HI @kurokocchi

Were you advised by NMC as to whether all your documents will be successfully tranferred to the new scheme? Did they give you a list as to which documents should be re-submitted?

Thank you..

I am still due for CBT this April.. Your insights will be greatly appreciated.

Not all documents, unfortunately, but they did email me to submit scanned copies of my passport, registration/board certificate, and birth certificate. Also, a new NBI clearance will be required. The rest of the documents should be transferrable.

Of course, I need to pass the CBT first, which I just took earlier today. I'm so anxious right now about the results I feel like crying,

Hi there!

That is a relief they said that you can use your old documents...

They told me I have to resubmit everything :(

I took the exam earlier today feeling confident since I can clearly recall most of the questions and even looked them all up on the NMC website to verify if I answered correctly and found that I did. But when I logged in to my Pearson Vue account, I saw the epic "Fail" result to my demise :(

I found the exam to have both NMC guidelines and general nursing questions I did encounter and remember in my perusing, but now I'm confused how or which questions I might have failed to answer correctly. I'm thinking that maybe the essential questions rule was not removed or that the 60% passing rate was not true, since I counted the number of items I was not sure of and found the sum still within the passing mark.

I'll need to re-read everything again and file another test date I guess. Still, I feel it would have been more justifiable if the score was displayed and how close I was to reaching the passing mark, like they do in taking the Prometrics exam (which I think was a whole new level harder than the CBT).

I also recall one question which didn't make sense but I remember that it was on the manual and when I checked, that question was indeed word-per-word similar to that in the exam but the multiple choice selections were for another question, the next question actually (in the RM manual). That makes me wonder if somehow, some questions were supposed to have another set of answer selections, and therefore would be incorrectly answered. Anyone encountered the same instance? So sad my money's down the drain.

Hi Bunny! I am overwhelmed to read your comment regarding the exam because I think it is exactly the same thing that happened to me. I was asking the agency I applied in if the CBT was checked manually or by a computer. I would not want to think that there are discrepancies in the questions or the exam itself but I hope they would recheck the questions they make and the way they check the answers because that may also be the reason why we fail. And mind them, the money we pay for the exam is not something you can just get overnight.

Hi kurokocchi, we hope you made it? So how was the result?

Hi Vikings! Glad to hear I'm not the only one. I tried communicating with my employer as well but so far no reply yet. I feel like they owe the examinees some form of transparency since we do invest some money on this exam.

I don't understand how a country with the likes of UK allowed the implementation of this CBT test when it seems like it's haphazardly done (I mean, grammar and question content errors? really? :woot:). I would understand if they said it was on a beta stage and no money was involved in the process, but sadly, it's live. Another thing is, how come all the other major country-specific registration exams that I know of provide clear summaries of the scores you get, except for this one. I just feel like, something's not right.

That is absolutely correct bunny! Until now I cannot decipher why they think the integrity of their CBT will be affected if they show the breakdown of scores. I mean, it makes no sense. You are right about other professional examinations being transparent about their scoring system yet integrity was not an issue for them. If an examinee takes a certain set of exam and fails it, It would have been better to know what mistake they made so they don't redo it on the retake.

Its not being upset on failing, instead I want to know "WHY" i failed because studying for more than a month and putting all efforts and moneyto pass is no joke, and when you receive a "FAIL" mark for an unknown reason is somewhat really frustrating.

Well, I think we couldn't do anything much about that now. hehehehe. The best we could do is pass the second attempt and hope that they do something about their system. :(

Hi I live in the UK and I just wanted to clarify this confusion. It's not how many cups of vegetables it's how many portions of vegetables and fruits and for those of you who don't know in the UK it is recommend to eat 5 portions of fruits and vegetables every day. You can google five a day to get more information in this regard.
