Anybody here who took the Pearsons Vue NMC exam? How was it? TY!
Hi I found the exact same issues as you. I wasn't going to resist as the questions were so ridiculous I felt even studying more wouldn't guarantee I would pass. I have heard from a nurse over in the UK that they have made the exam easier due to a very low pass rate however I can't find any information about whether this is true or not. Of course the NMC were no help when I tried to contact them about it! Such a frustrating process
I am also under IPAMS/CTN and currently preparing for my CBT exam, which would be tomorrow! I didn't study that much, but I hope I could pass the exam tomorrow. However, CTN is only my 3rd choice, I also have an application for Addenbrooke's, which is my second choice, and Newcastle as my 1st choice as of now.
Goodluck :-) let us know if you pass.
Same problem haha. I do not know what the Y and E stand for. I have a friend who passed the CBT and when I asked him what do the letters stand for, he just told me that he went through all of the links and boom! He took the exam. So he doesn't have any concrete idea what do the letters mean hehe. Well, he's a smart guy so I cannot take anything away from him.
But I'm not that gifted intellectually haha. So I need to know what do the letters mean too. :) Info overload :s
Filipino here btw! :)

Hey all!!
Im very pleased to announce that I sat my second attempt on February 25th and PASSED!!!! Didn't do much differently from the first time except review the Royal Marsden book on the areas I wasn't familiar with on the first attempt and had a good read through of NICE guidelines. There were still questions on it that were not in any of the links from the blueprints so I don't know where they come up with the questions!
Now that it's over with I've been researching the OSCE test and Northampton University have issued a preparation guideline on their website that is 49 pages ( http://www.northampton.ac.uk/Downloads/Candidate%20information%20booklet%20-%20V.Jan15%20(1).pdf ). There is a reading list at the bottom and information about how the testing will be structured. The essential book on the reading list is the Royal Marsden Hospital Manual for Clinical Nursing Procedures so if you haven't bought it or borrowed it (my hospital library had it so I was lucky) then I would recommend you get it and study it for both tests.
Still waiting to hear from the NMC about booking the OSCE but if there's anyone who has already passed part 1 and has a date for part 2 at Northampton, can you give me a rough idea of dates you were given?
All the best to those taking the CBT soon!!!
