Anybody here who took the Pearsons Vue NMC exam? How was it? TY!
Congratulations nurse_cardio! Can you give us your application timeline? Somehow it will ease our anxiety with the whole NMC process. Thanks in advance!
Hi Paul. Sure! Here's my timeline:
I took the IELTS last Jan 2015 (hahaha took me over a year to decide whether I should pursue a Nursing career in the UK).
Took CBT in April 25, 2016 - Failed it.
Retake in May 25, 2016 - Pass
Submitted all my documents before June 20 and everything was uploaded on my portal July 05.
So I was put on the queue on July 05..and 37 days after I received my DL.

Congratulations once again nurse_cardio! Are you with any agency?
Wow! THAT fast. Under which trust are you? Im also from Asc and I still haven't gone through the requirements for the nmc portal. I just received all the guidelines in accomplishing those forms yesterday. I hope I could accomplish those soon enough and let the waiting games begin
hi sofiebear!
I'm from barts nhs trust. How about you?
Hello fissure,
Is it okay to go to UK without the DL and just wait there? I heard that we have three months from the start date of employment to sit the OSCE for the first time. What if the DL does not come before that?
In omanfil, they will secure the COS, and you can fky without the DL. Just wait for it in GB.
Put a date on it. My friend's doc was rejected because of that. She put also present... They need a date. Just a put a date when u will submit those requirments
This is true. You cannot just put the word "present" when NMC is asking for a concrete date. If in doubt, put in the date you'll send out the form.
With regards to sending out an email or by post, just send the email since it doesn't cost anything. What you have to consider when sending by post/courier is that it may be fast, but it doesn't mean NMC will put your mail ahead of their assessment queue. So it could take NMC about the same time to read your letter and consider it as sending the email and getting a response. At least emailing them is free. If unsure, ask NMC.
Yes. The embassy just need the COS for your VISA. It depends on your hospital when to apply for your OSCE and send you to UoN for that :-) The first batch in my trust flew, all of them has no DL.
But mind you, be sure you passed correct forms to avoid delays. Because you have to have a proxy here in the Philippines if ever you're required to submit new forms. I suggest you get a new NBI clearance before you fly. Police clearances last only for 3 months after you upload it. There's too much hassle if you apply for that at the Philippine embassy in London. My cousin paid 200 Euros for the clearance alone. ;-)
It takes a while. For example my school documents were received on the 4th of august but my account is yet to reflect that.
I emailed the on august 4 to confirm that they have in fact received it (reading through all the horror stories of lost documents and having to send it again got me worried) so that I something in writing that says they did just incase i get an email that says they didn't. I got a response to that email on august 11. They said they received it and that they're still working on documents received on august 2 so mine should be uploaded sometime soon.
This document is the last of the lot needed so I can be put in the queue. Hopefully they put you there immediately upon uploading the final document and that there isn't a queue for the queue.
Thanks for responding, shulace! Mine was also delivered last August 4, so I guess they will upload it on the portal by next week, hopefully! I'm worried right now because I only sent them a cam capture of my diploma and I've heard from my friend which she also did the same that they are asking her to re-upload the document. The waiting game for the DL is quite nerve-racking and I've only been waiting for almost a week. Shocks!
I just checked my account and just tonight, PH time... it shows that they've uploaded the last of my documents. I hope this means I'm in the queue.Emails are responded to within 10 business days. Sometimes earlier. Sometimes not at all. You just have to be assertive and determined. Hang in there everyone! Hopefully none of us encounter any problem and get our DLs right away!
How long did it take for them to upload your documents on your portal? They received my last documents last August 5, 2016 but they aren't still uploading it yet. I think I'll wait for a week and if it is still the same, then I guess I should e-mail the NMC and inquire about it. Thanks for the info!
