NLN Results....

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

I took my test on 1/27....I read on here some people are getting their results back in 12 days...well that's today. Does anyone who took their test that day have theirs back? How about those of you that took it just before then...are your results back yet?

I was fine this morning until I looked out my window and saw the mailbox. Then it hit me. Now I'm a NERVOUS NERVOUS NERVOUS wreck!!

Alrighty...hmmm. Well I'll be waiting on the mail truck.

there is a paper version. i took it march 8. took one week to get my score back.

I took the computer version. I prefered it because I got my results right away, as opposed to having to wait a few weeks for the paper results to come in the mail. But if you're not comfortable staring at a computer screen for a couple of hours, you may not like it. The words started to blur at one point for me lol, but it wasn't too horrible.

There isn't a paper version of the test available, its completely on the computer. You can mark a question if you want to come back to it later if you have the time.

Hope this helps:up:

Thanks, this does help. That is sort of what I was afraid of though, that there wasn't a paper version to go along with it. When I take an exam I like to immediately cross out incorrect answers or circle words that are important etc so I am not too crazy about taking it on the computer, though I do want to have my score right away.

I'm studying my butt off but let's just hope that I'm good at guessing that day!

when i took the test the science portion had alot of graphs and electricity questions.

i thought i did bad on the test. but......got a 136 composite and in the 95 percentile

There isn't a paper version available while you are taking the computerized one.

I have a question about what forms of ID to bring? I can't find my driver's license right now! Does anyone know what else I can use?

thanks!

Specializes in CNA/Nursing Student.

I brought my passport for my photo ID. I can't remember if it has to be government issued, but if it doesn't you can maybe try a student ID or anything else that has a picture on it. It should say on your letter what types of identification they accept.

Thanks, I guess I will bring my passport.

So is anyone else taking the NLN in a few weeks?! I need support! I think the math session is going to be the hardest for me. I am focusing mostly on timing myself to make sure I have time to do the problems I know and then guessing on the one's I have no idea about.

Did people find it easy to quickly skim through the sections for all the easy questions and then go back in and work on the hard ones? I think practicing the timing and having some kind of a strategy for taking the exam is equally as important as knowing the material.

I am hopeful but nervous!

Ok I took my NLN on the 26 of April and got my results in the mail. I got a composite of 141. What do your schools require? I know the bottom of the page says that scores can be between 0 and 200, so do I take my percentage of 141 out of 200, or do I use the compostite percentiles? In those I got di-98, ad-96, all-97. So is that a good score or bad???

I've emailed my advisor, but I haven't gotten answers.

Thanks for your help!

Chancie

thats a great score. check with your school to see what they require. i personally got a 136 and my score was one of the highest for my nursing class. congrats!!!!!!!!!:yeah:

Those are really good Chancie, you did better than 98% students who took the test with a diploma I believe. Better than 96 % with a ADN and better than 97% altogether. Im proud of you

I have a couple questions about the NLN:

First when you guys go to take the test, where do they send you? Do you go to to your college to take it, or do they send you to a different location? I have been trying all week to get a hold of my advisor to ask her this..but she is impossible to get on the phone.

Second, on my NS application, it says my school requires a "96 composite score" in order to be admitted to the program ......what's a "96 composite score" mean?

I can tell you that I'm not worried about the NLN, EXCEPT on the Math portion. My scores won't be pretty in the math portion...I'll probably be dong a lot of guessing in the math portion..do I have room for much error?

I took the NLN at the college the test date was available to meet my deadline. I had the scores sent to the colleges I applied to (its done step by step when you register to take the exam). Since I was already taking it at College "T" I figured why not apply there.

I dont know how bad you are at math, but I suck and I did well. Theres one correct answer, if youre not sure about the problem try using the answers to figure it out --make sense? The math was very basic algebra, decimals, fractions. questions like "what is 20 percent of N" is over of equals percent over 100 -- remember that?

If i confused you, i apologized I just got home and Im dead tired but I couldnt help but answer someone in need.
