on 7.24 this law goes into effect.
please look for the posting and encourage your coworkers to look for it everyday. report any shortfalls to the state.
when you are aware of the law, it will be more readily enforced.
i'd love to hear about how this pans out, so please add to the thread when this starts!

What do you mean by this
starting 7.24 hospitals and ltc must post how many rns, lpn and techs are on each unit. this post must be available for the public to see, and the postings have to be sent to trenton every month.

:Melody: Actually two bills in congress now have been proposed since 2003 without action after referral to committee; currently both the House and the Senate are trying to save Medicaid $10 billion. Wish they would see if we were properly staffed a savings of $100 Billion may well be saved. Should these bills be passed the hospitals of the nation will have to post the RN to client ratio in public view.

I hope this gets enough media that patients and doctors ask for and look at the staffing levels.
Daily reports on the news about best and worst staffed hospitals and units would be great.
I bet malpractice attorneys will use the information if their client is on a poorly staffed unit.
I'm praying and wishing all New Jersey patients and nurses the best!

Was this bill actually passed totally???? Have not seen anything in my hospital----NJ---has anyone else????
Can someone let un know what is going on? The NJSNA site doesn't mention posting the staffing on each unit.

It won't be ignored if organized nurses make news about it.
The public deserves to know!
If I lived in New Jersey I would be calling, writing, and visiting the organization(s) that lobbies for the law with as many others as I could get to go with me.
Write a letter to the paper!
