  1. thanks for your input traumarus, i had an interview friday and now await the managers decision on whether or not i get the job. i am in a situation which i must get into an area where i do more sitting than walking; i have had foot problems all my life as i approach 50 they are getting worse.
  2. i will agree no education is ever wasted, there is a better way to train nurses in my humble opnion.
  3. i am an rn with an adn, i have worked m/s, er, icu, charge positions, and supervision and can tell you there is not any difference in adn and bsn when it comes to staff nursing. yes, there is a differance in bsn and adn, more booklearning. the best rn is an aid which went to adn then on to the bsn or the diploma trained nurse. a streight through bsn has only books to rely on with little to no acutal patient contact.
  4. actually i heard the saying as noses.....however your saying works as well lol. i am getting my bsn to get off the floor, yes adn is a registered nurse both take the same test, however; there are other areas or nursing which may well open up with the bsn, with the network i work with there will be no extra pay. :melody:
  5. Congrats on your new RN, now keep it safe. :Melody: :yelclap: :smiley_ab :lol_hitti :smiley_aa
  6. Actually no I don't wonder, when i see some of the people who are interviewing for positions I am seeking come in dressed down, not in their best. I further wonder why a nurse recruiter wants an interview then you never hear from them nor do they check your references

  8. :) wanting a change in my carrer as a nurse i have been at the bedside for 25 years now, i would like to try case management, while looking through the case management site there are tons of registraions one may earn however, i don't seem to be able to get into the field.
  9. I believe in speaking up for what's right. And one of the biggest problems for me is that when I say something, every body looks at me as the trouble-maker or whistle blower. No one likes me for opening my mouth and saying what is true. There should be a pay increase for nurses. I'm all for it, but we need cooperation from every single nurse in this country. :angryfire Good news there are several states and national bills which will require nurse staffing or posting the nurse client ratio. In congress there are bills which protect both the patinet and the nurse for reporting the hospital for not following the guidelines. :balloons:
  10. :Melody: Actually two bills in congress now have been proposed since 2003 without action after referral to committee; currently both the House and the Senate are trying to save Medicaid $10 billion. Wish they would see if we were properly staffed a savings of $100 Billion may well be saved. Should these bills be passed the hospitals of the nation will have to post the RN to client ratio in public view.
