Hello!
I'm really excited to start my ABSN program in Nightingale College this fall. I have an AS degree in another allied health field but have always felt like nursing was calling to me....and so here I go! Anyone else starting this fall 2020 or has anyone graduated from Nightingale's ABSN program and wouldn't mind sharing some of their experience? I've done a number of searches but can't seem to find a whole lot of anything on them....

Do they usually start on a week day? Wondering if I were to take Monday-Friday off for two weeks if that would that satisfy "14 days"? only if it started on a weekend I suppose.
Found it. 205-5 days, 225-10 days, 245-10 days, 265-10 days, 345-13 days, 365-10 days, and 395-21 days. These include travel day to and travel day from the hub. I also would just assume these could change if requirements change. As far as the Monday-Friday I am not sure as my first two terms they changed to be all online because of Covid. Hope this helps. But I’m loving this school and it really works for our family.
Hi,
I am also in the process of enrolling for the BSN program but was wondering if California Board of Registered Nursing will qualify an applicant to take NCLEX after completion of Nightingale College?

Not difficult at all to be accepted. Like mentioned above it was the enrollment fee and the entrance test which covered basic math, writing and reading. If you have credits from other schools you can transfer them in for the most part. All general education has to be within the last five years. If you are missing any or need to redo some I recommend using straighter line and submit through ACE to have it transferred. Much cheaper and it’s self paced. I completed four classes in one month through them.
I am very interested in Nightingale College, I am an LPN looking for RN-BSN programs that will accept my credit, that are also online and flexible. I do see that Nightingale is acen and ccne accredited, however they are nationally instead of regionally accredited. Do any graduates of this program out there have any experience transferring credits from this school into MSN or DPN programs?

So I believe most of us on this post are newer with Nightingale so we are still in our first few terms. As far as the nationally accredited part, from what my cohort has been told they are working on this right now. They are in the process of becoming Nationally accredited. I am in my first semester of nursing classes in the BSN program. I hope this helps a little bit.

I'm in the process of enrolling for the 2021 Spring semester for the BSN program. Did they give you guys a schedule already for the clinical site? I'm in California and was told I could be sent to any of their clinical sites depending on space but that they would try to get me sites as close to home as possible. Traveling doesn't really bother me, I just want to know where I'll be flying to waaay in advance so that I can plan for it.
Hi Nurse Dez,
I am also planning on attending this school and completing the distance learning. Do you know if we can take our NCLEX in California? I requested information already.
Hey everyone,
I was looking into this school for their ABSN program. I am in San Diego and the options are so limited here. I requested more information from the school but d/t it being a holiday weekend I know I won't hear back for a couple of more days. I would like to know how difficult it was to get into this program? I do not mind traveling for clinicals. At this point I know better than to try and put all my eggs into one basket. I am just trying to look for a great fit in remote learning programs. I am a self-learner anyway, so this whole pandemic thing doesn't bother me in keeping me out of lectures. I hate sitting in classes.
How is the cost compared to other schools? I heard Unitek was at about 100k (LVN to BSN) and then schools like Carrington and ICHS are both approx. 35K (those are ASN). But there are terrible reviews on ICHS and I am looking for a school that actually releases you to take the NCLEX. Not one that tries to trap you for multiple additional classes.

Hi SoCaliLVN,
I too was researching this school as I was waiting to hear from Azusa Pacific. I also wanted more options but thank God, I did get accepted at APU. A friend of mine who went through this program in 2016, recommended this school to me just in case. This is the information I got. She was able to obtain a California RN license through this program. The school does have a clinical component to it however, right now as it stands with COVID, it may be a little tough getting clinical sites close to you. If you are willing to travel, then you'll be set. Just make sure to verify with the school that you will be able to sit for the boards in California. My friend also recommended to go through their ADN program as it is cheaper and it takes less time. They do have a placement exam for LVN's, if you pass the placement exam, you are looking at about 8 mos. time to finish. It is a bit pricey but not 100K. You'll have to look at the website to see how much it is per unit. She recommends you buy the Saunders NCLEX-RN book to study for the placement exam. She passed on her first try. She also passed her boards on her first try. The downside is that their passing rate is somewhat low in general. We should take into consideration that many of the students don't have clinical experience. But you are an LVN, so you are familiar with the process and you obviously have the knowledge as you passed your NCLEX-PN. Call them on Monday and see what they tell you. The same day that I scheduled an appointment with the representative at this school, is the same day that I received my acceptance letter from APU. So, of course, I am opting to go to APU. But this program is good for other students that are struggling to get into programs. I hope this information helps.

@luckycharmSVN sorry this is such a late reply. Did you hear back from the school? I just received my acceptance letter and am waiting for access to test out of the pharmacology course. From my experience so far all you need to enroll is the enrollment fee and to take the entrance exam. My entrance exam was live proctored the most difficult part was actually getting set up to take the test. I was scheduled to start at 10 but examity was having some issues and I wasn't able to start until 11. I spent 2 hours on the test itself. It's a basic Math, reading and writing test but I was pretty irritated when I found out that the calculator that is provided to use for the math portion of the test was only available for about 3 out of 20 questions and those 3 questions didn't really need a calculator. I did pass tho so I didn't complain too much.
