Hi everyone~
I started having night sweats last week. I'm not ill, not HIV pos and not menopausal. When I wake up, I have to blow dry my hair and change my pajamas because they are SOAKED.
I did just start my cycle, so I'm wondering if it could be hormonal changes? Any ideas?

How old are you? I went perimenopausal at 35.

Please see your doc or NP. There are a multitude of possible causes of night sweats, ranging from very minor to very serious.
Not worth taking a chance on this one!

I'm with the other nurses: I'll bet your perimenopausal: I'm 45 and have had night sweats for 4 years now, along with some other lovely symptoms.

Probably time for a good check up and some blood levels checked.

Wasn't it you that posted about the ex bringing you your things in a bodybag? Could it be due to anxiety/stress?
Also, have you ruled out TB?

Curious--what blood levels? Estrogen? I am 36 and have had intermittent night sweats and cycle irregularities for two years--being told I'm too young for perimenopause. If you know what tests I should ask for I'd appreciate it.

I am 39 and have had night sweats for about four years now. I too would wake up just drenched. Told doc, I thought I was menopausal. He examined me and determined it was reflux!! I thought he was nuts, but I was put on medication and changed my diet, and they stopped. When I do have sweats now, I can ALWAYS relate it to what i have eaten that day. They are coming back more regularly now b/c I have stopped taking the medication, too expensive with no insurance. Worth a thought!

SSRIs can cause sweating (big time), but I vote for perimenopausal.
